Others of note, and they really tell a story:

288. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network
290. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
291. Customs and Border Protection
299. Immigration & Customs Enforcement
303. TSA

Everybody feeling safer now?

I don't deal with the BATF on a weekly basis like I do the TTB.
They're a soggy, crotchety bunch of biscuits in that place. And extremely inconsistent and arbitrary. It's infuriating sometimes.
But from what I've heard, they are easier to deal with now than they used to be 5+ years ago. So I guess that's good. :twocents:

Any reason why that would be so low?

DHS Secretary released a statement that even though DHS is last, they improved slightly from 2015 and everyone should be commended. :dunce:

I vaguely remember, but with all the other noise in the news it wasn't at the top of my head. But it makes sense.

They also had an Obama-appointed token with titties put in charge in 2013 who had all sorts of security lapses on her watch and resigned.

Because its law enforcement.

That's a job that requires integrity and at the Federal level they are largely not allowed to be independent in the way they do their jobs. It happens to a degree at the state and local levels too.

My takeaway: We have THREE HUNDRED AND FIVE different government departments.

Nigga please. Those are just the subcomponents of the large agencies. My agency is not even in those 305. There are three other tabs of rankings on that page!

Maybe we need a Department of Departments with a Cabinet level Secretary and a large staff to co-ordinate department activities.

Oh hell! This is how the mess got started in the first place.

But then again how much "real" "work" is there in the government anyway?

It's not much different than many large companies..."Let's schedule a meeting to talk about our next meetings"

Many of those were IGs for different departments, which is understandable. I wouldn't get hung up on the number.

Yes but they are doing it on their own nickel or at least a nickel they hope to get from us as we buy their good or service. The government does it with money they take from us with the power to jail us if we don't pay. Huge difference.

People don't say "NOW the party can start!" when you walk into a room, do they?

Be careful! Did you search to make sure this wasn't already posted in the last nine years? Because if it was, he's going to link it and make you look like a fool!
