All they did was announce the fund with the Saudis in October. They didn't announce where the money would be distributed or how many jobs they planned to create until after the election.

Its not just the small cars. Some pickup production has been moved to Mexico as well.
-GM 1/2 ton crew cab pickups (Chevy Silverados & GMC Sierra 1500s) made in Mexico with about 40% North American parts. I think the production was moved to Mexico in Obama's 1st term.
-Toyota Tundras made in Texas with about 75% North American parts (tied with Ford for most American made pickup) (I know because I bought a 2016 1794 Tundra CrewCab this past June).
-Nissan Titans made in Mississippi..

Trump called out his fellow Republicans for proposing to curb the powers of the independent ethics panel as their first move of the year, although the President-elect suggested the ethics panel was "unfair."

DETROIT — Ford Motor said on Tuesday that it would build its next-generation small car for American consumers in China rather than Mexico, where the automaker canceled plans for a new factory this year.

The shift of production of the Ford Focus to China was among a number of manufacturing moves announced by the company, and one of the first strategic steps taken by its new chief executive, Jim Hackett.

Ford said it would begin making the Focus in China for global markets in 2019, after production ends at its current location in Michigan.

The company was building a $1.6 billion assembly plant for the next Focus model in Mexico, but it ran into stiff opposition from President Trump and then canceled the project.
