Sure...but the gap may be closing to the extent where it's a push.

I was making a broader sarcastic point about globalization. Quit being an 89... :)
It would be a good thing if we end up not having such wide differences in labor costs, especially when it's China's going up and ours not going down. It takes that variable out of the equation in terms of where companies choose to site their businesses, and it has a knock down effect that Chinese people begin to worry less about where their next meal will come from and worry more about things we care about like clean water/clean air, etc. Besides, competing on a level playing field isn't a bad thing.

Fair enough points.

I'm still trying to make the 1990's Clintonian argument for the democracy spreading virtues of global capitalism jive with the original spirit of this thread.

It's a daunting task and I'm just trying to keep as open a mind as you... :thumb:

Lawmakers and senior US intelligence officials drew a line in the sand for Donald Trump on Thursday, presenting a united front on their conclusion that Russia is a major threat to the United States and was behind election hacking -- a conclusion the President-elect has refused to accept.

"I do think public trust and confidence in the Intelligence Community is crucial" both in the US and in other countries that rely on US intelligence, James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, told the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Uh...wasn't that trust lost when we invaded Iraq and found no WMD? :?

Oh and Russia is our greatest ally.

The old "keeping more of your money" meme is fun. Unless it's offset by spending cuts and every business in the state gets the same tax cut, it's also meaningless. :coffee:

Like it or not, states have to balance budgets and "the people"
have debt obligations that can't be ignored or kicked down the road unlike the Feds (conks are suppose to appreciate this).

Otherwise it's just government picking winners and losers and increases the tax burden on businesses and people who don't get the cuts.

Speaking of the tax burden, Indiana had a $50M surplus last fiscal year and has about $2.25B in reserves, so there's that.

“The wealthy are going to create tremendous jobs. They’re going to expand their companies,” Trump asserted during the first presidential debate. “They’re going to bring $2.5 trillion back from overseas, … to be put to use on the inner cities and lots of other things, and it would be beautiful.” During the third debate he promised that “We’re going to start hiring people, we’re going to bring the $2.5 trillion that’s offshore back into the country. We are going to start the engine rolling again.”

Funny that the Gov of Florida called Trump after the airport shooting

May have tried BHO 1st but was probably napping getting ready for his late night party last night

Trump just stopped in front of the cameras at Trump Tower while seeing off the Alibaba founder. Priceless dialogue with a reporter:

Reporter: How is the confirmation process going?
Trump: The hearings are going great!
Reporter: The hearings haven't started yet.
Trump: Great!!
