Speaking of Snowflakes

Post by houndawg »

Its not "mocking", its that the Donald is out of his depth and requires a little "seasoning".

The question: Is Donald too brittle to take this for four years? We know Obama can take it for twice that long but Donald is from a softer background and has always been in an environment where his word was law. That is about to change, can he rise to the occasion?

I agree with the Donald here. Streep is over-rated and the liberals need to move past the grieving and anger stages for fucks sake.

The libs can bitch and moan all they want. Just as long as they don't distort the results of his actions. If he fucks up, bitch and moan. If he delivers on jobs, economy, security, etc., then they need to accept the fact that they were wrong. There will be missteps, but I'm not sure if any president has entered office with as positive a head start that Trump has right now.

That's all true but my question is dictated by the apparently massive inferiority complex hidden beneath the bluster. He isn't even smart enough to respond with a simple "Meryl who?", he takes the bait every time even if it is the janitor dissing him. What happens when he starts playing with the big kids that don't have to tell him how great he is?

Agreed. Trump, despite the childishness of it, just comes out on top after all of these things. The more people make him go to Twitter the more he wins. The other GOP hopefuls found that out, Hillary found that out, and now everyone else is finding it out. Heck, there's even irony in Meryl's speech last night about how people in power "bullying" other people is a bad thing - I pretty much guarantee that if any Trump voters were watching they perceived that Meryl was the actual bully. Dissing football and MMA at the end of the speech probably didn't help sway that message either. It just looked like liberals and Hollywood dissing the flyover states, and their voters, yet again. That didn't work well in the last election.

From an article attached to the link:

"Although I’m sure plenty of people will not agree with Conway that not approving of Donald Trump mocking a disabled reporter is a “worst instinct”. Hint: The worst instinct is mocking the reporter, from a position of privilege and power.

Basically, Donald Trump is such a baby that he can’t be held accountable for what he says from the biggest platform in the world, and he’s so thin-skinned that Americans aren’t allowed to even disagree with him without being charged with inciting “worst instincts”. Because to Trump, disagreeing with him is so painful that it FEELS like worst instincts to him.

Trump is a very special snowflake, people. Only positive comments, thanks!"

Still using the proven to be wrong story of Trump mocking a disabled reporter. :dunce:

And liberals talking about someone being hurt by words? The entire liberal following is the king of being hurt by words. That is what PC talk is all about...only say nice things to each other.

And the whole, "position of power" thing is ridiculous. The only power people have over you is the power you give to them. Trump saying things doesn't make me feel bad about myself...nor does Streep. She's a clown living in a fantasy world.

Why would we, 8 years ago, say, "I agree with the Donald here. Streep is over-rated and the liberals need to move past the grieving and anger stages for **** sake."

That would have been a stupid thing to say.

Streep said Trump's behavior "sank its hooks in my heart" and she slammed what she called Trump's "instinct to humiliate." She asked for "the principled press to hold power to account, to call him (Trump) on the carpet for every outrage." Her comments were met with applause, tears and support by her fellow actors in the audience.

A) the fact she thinks the press is "principled"
B) if they DO hold power to account, it'll be living goddamned proof they openly support one party over the other, because they turned a blind eye for 8 fucking years to Obama's repeated abuses of power...

I don't know who she thinks the "principled press" is bu the establishment press is mostly interested in getting cocktail party invites and having nice conversations.

The thing is, Trump hasn't really changed for maybe a decade or more now. His schtick isn't new, it's just new that it's been working, hence why most people didn't think he was a factor at all when he announced that he was entering the GOP nomination race again. But he stays new and he stays relevant every time he gets to look like the guy standing up to the entrenched, liberal-leaning status quo. And since that doesn't appear to be acquiescing to a Trump Presidency, it could go on for quite some time.
