U2 Delays Album Release Because of Trump

(CNN)The rock band U2 has decided to delay the release of their upcoming album, "Songs of Experience," because of the election of businessman-turned-US President-elect Donald Trump.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the band's guitarist, David Evans, more commonly known as "The Edge," said the group had nearly completed their newest album when "the election (happened) and suddenly the world changed."
"We just went, 'Hold on a second, we've got to give ourselves a moment to think about this record and about how it relates to what's going on in the world,'" the U2 member said.
"It's like a pendulum has suddenly just taken a huge swing in the other direction."

BTW, hopefully getting U2 tickets tomorrow for June 20 show in DC. They are playing Joshua Tree from start to finish on this tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of the album. Not a big fan of more recent U2, but JT was on my heavy rotation.

The back side (ha! Dated) of God's Country, Red Hill Minimg Town, and One Tree Hill are very nostalgic. Been listening to them lately.

The "hits" were on side one, but I much preferred side two. We were able to get 8 tickets this morning for the DC show.

As a side note, Bono may have some worries about this date. On the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 it rained and he slipped on stage at RFK Stadium and dislocated his shoulder.
