That CNN reporter was a rude clown.BDKJMU wrote:
Later, he said he has covered a couple administrations and hasn't been treated that way, and it was a bad sign.
A bad sign? Well, clown boy, you probably were rude and continued to try to talk over the President Elect and the other reporters, either.
Cripes, Trump is bringing order to the entitlement mentality of the first row CNN (might as well be a World Weekly News with their stories lately) reporter. Going forward, I would not let that guy ask a single question. The dude's career should be moved to the mail room.

Re: Trump calls out CNN over their fake news
There are plenty of honest journalists out there. They don't seem to percolate to the top, though
It's like you need to have an agenda, and that agenda must dovetail with the agenda of who you work for
In the perfect world in my head, journalists do real research and report. They hold politicians' feet to the fire
In the real world, since most network journalists are in the pocket of one side or another, I take what little I can get from them which is mostly entertainment when they screw up and then get pilloried by someone like Trump - a guy who would be completely on the ropes (and maybe in jail) if they actually did their jobs properly
(Instead of chasing obviously concocted stories like this one)

The timeline and players involved with the MI6 operative's memo is interesting, He was first paid by the Republican Party to take down Trump, then paid by the Clinton Party to take down Trump but no media organization would touch the unsubstantiated stuff...until John McCain took it to the FBI and then the intelligence agencies felt it necessary to share it with the Obama and Trump camps lending legitimacy to the memo.

Re: Trump calls out CNN over their fake news
Exactly, kalm.
The New York Times published this account of the exchange between Trumnp and the CNN reporter:
'"He deemed BuzzFeed News “a failing pile of garbage,” mocked an inquiry about his tax returns — “Gee, I’ve never heard that one before” — and, in an unheard-of moment for a presidential news conference, shouted down questions from a CNN reporter, declaring, with some menace, “Not you.”
“Your organization is terrible,” said President-elect Donald J. Trump, his voice rising as Jim Acosta of CNN tried to interject. “No, I’m not going to give you a question. I’m not going to give you a question.”
“You,” the president-elect said, as Mr. Acosta and other stunned journalists looked on, “are fake news.”
Any hope that Mr. Trump would temper his attacks on the news media after the campaign seemed to dissipate in the marble atrium of Trump Tower on Wednesday, as the president-elect, holding his first news conference since July, turned a controversy over his ties to Russia into a deft and unrelenting attack on the journalists who reported it.The treatment of Mr. Acosta raised alarms among news media advocates and his fellow journalists, particularly after Mr. Acosta described a threat by Mr. Spicer to eject him from the news conference when he persisted in trying to ask the president-elect a question.
Harsh words between reporters and press secretaries happen. But an anchor for a rival network, Shepard Smith of Fox News, later came to Mr. Acosta’s defense, saying that no “journalists should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the president-elect of the United States.”
The National Press Club also lamented Mr. Trump’s behavior, saying in a statement: “Presidents shouldn’t get to pick and choose which reporters’ questions they will answer based on what news outlet for which they work.”'
Shouted down questions...are they kidding?
Trump was polite, at first, and repeatedly...repeatedly...tried to ask another person a question...but the CNN guy was the first to be loud, and the guy kept getting louder and kept trying to butt in and would not stop talking over Trump and the person Trump called on.
To frame this as Trump being rude is disingenuous and inaccurate. And to frame this as an attack on the media is silly. The CNN guy thought HE could shout down everyone because HE thought he had some sort of entitlement as to which order Trump selected the questions.
As to the NPC comment, two things: 1) I remember reports, mainly from conservative outlets, and certainly not from the Liberal MSM, about Obama not choosing questions from Fox reporters. Where was the big complaint about the President then? 2) Trump did call on a CNN reporter later. So the problem wasn't just CNN, it was the clown reporter who was trying to control the press conference and make it about his wants.
Shame, again, on the New York Times. Oddly enough, in the quote above, the Times used the word, "deft" to describe Trump's interaction with the reporter. It certainly was.

Actually, Buzzfeed has a pretty good investigative journalism wing with Pulitzer Prize winners. They've broken some pretty big stories that were completely true.
The Buzzfeed article is essentially "here is an intelligence memo that has made its rounds in the intelligence community and onto the desks of Obama and Trump."
That is all true and the memo is authentic. McCain and Biden have confirmed it.
Whether any or all of the information in the memo is authentic is another matter.

And it's going to get worse. A lot of left-wing websites I usually read have been sounding like liberal Glenn Beck with talks of democracy itself being at stake and Trump as a Manchurian candidate and something about neonazis and blah blah blah.
I've been listening to NPR and GPB radio more lately because they're actually seeming more objective about Trump than a lot of private outlets. When you go there to get a breath of fresh air it's bad...
