I read the article and all it says is that the state is looking. What funds would the state of California collect and send to the feds? It's all bluster...

Whoever reads these posts to you isn't doing a good job. :(

I don't much care what happens to the Democrats. I hope they lose millions of members to the Green Party. I hope both parties are so damaged that in '18 when every House seat is up that all 435 of them lose.

Every. single. one.

Makes a great bipartisan campaign slogan, no? :thumb:

1st of all, 12 million more voters didn't prefer someone else than Trump It was close to 11 million. Must be the 6.93 Illinois math..
137,098,443 total votes
62,985,105 Trump
74,113,388 other than trump
11,128,123 difference
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_St ... tion,_2016
And so what. In 92' almost 14 million more people preferred someone other than Bill Clinton, who won with only 43% of the vote (Trump got 45.9%).

In the context of the United States, California is a liberal stalwart, delivering 55 electoral college votes, amassing millions in political donations, protecting civilians at enormous military bases, exporting produce and natural resources like oil, facilitating legal and illicit global trade in ports like Oakland and San Pedro, managing migration from the southern border, dictating culture through Hollywood, and uprooting economic and social structures from Silicon Valley. If this enormously diverse geography and people were to answer to itself, this identity might mature or shift significantly.

What's comical is the those think a wall can't slow down illegal immigration lol :dunce: , when Israel has already proved a properly constructed one (440 miles) can.

"..About 90-95% of the barrier will be constructed as a "multi-layered fence system" with the IDF's preferred design having three fences, pyramid-shaped stacks of barbed wire on the two outer fences, a lighter-weight fence with intrusion detection equipment in the middle, an anti-vehicle ditch, patrol roads on both sides, and a smooth strip of sand for "intrusion tracking".

The barrier contains an on-average 60-metre (200 ft) wide exclusion area. The width of some sections is larger (up to 100 metres (330 ft)) due to topographic conditions. The width of some sections (about 6% of the barrier) is 3 metres (9.8 ft) where the barrier is constructed as a concrete wall up to 8 metres (26 ft) high..."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_West_Bank_barrier

Even the left leaning politifact admits the statement that it cut illegal immigration by 99% is mostly true.

Ok, you convinced me. Since a strong portion of the Israeli economy depends largely on cheap illegal Arab labor coming across their border similarly to our economy needing cheap illegal brown labor, the two situations are identical.

Nailed it. :dunce:

The wall won't work because the demand for the labor is too high. What part of this do you conks not understand? Fine and jail employers of illegal labor and you don't need a wall. It's that simple. :coffee:

:dunce: Its doesn't matter what the reason is. A wall can work to prevent illegal border crossers IF properly constructed & defended. Of course it won't work for the other 40% of illegal immigrants (visa overstays) which is an entirely different matter.

As fas as the labor we don't need any more cheap labor from outside the US. Its ALREADY here (11 million, or 12 million, or 20 million illegals. Yes some seasonally cross back and forth (but not as many as used to). 40 some million foreign born (a good chunk of whom fall in the cheap labor pool). 90+ million out of the work force. If somehow magically not another single illegal immgrant entered the US or overstayed it wouln't hurt our cheap labor market much- the cheap labor is already here.

If there were *magically* no more deportations.
