I'm still occasionally lurking; I've always leaned left (and have lived in the DMV my whole life) but I'm certainly leaning even more to the left since the election. This election has also confirmed what I've suspected: the GOP is morally bankrupt and they really don't care about the Constitution nor the rights of people.

I've also done a lot of self-reflection since Trump's surprising election and I've realized that debating on this forum, among others, is generally a waste of time. In the last few months, I've joined the DNC and have been registering people to vote for the 2018 election as well assisting in letter-writing campaigns and the organization of protests.

Additionally, I've been helping my family transform our rental home so that it can comfortably house three refugee families (rent-free) of up to six people each. So far, all the neighbors, inspectors, permitting reviewers, and local gov't officials have been incredibly supportive. I myself have been housing immigration layers from the east coast that have traveled to help refugees pro-bono affected by Trump's EO.

Ultimately, I've learned there's a TON of good people in this country that believe in the values this nation is built on. And that Trump's election has awoken a politically apathetic generation that will hopefully be a force of good for decades to come.

Anyways, maybe see you all in a few months.
Good to hear from you Trip and nice going on getting involved. :thumb: Like Cluck said, hopefully you can have a positive affect and improve the corruption in the Democratic Party from the inside.

One of the Albany fans also. I get them confused. One was fairly moderate, the other was a pretty reliable Donk.

And, there were some good ones on AGS that never migrated. Paward treated me to one of the best BBQ spreads I've ever seen at an App - Georgia Southern game probably around 5 years ago. I think he's the only poster on here or AGS I've met.
TTBF was a great poster, i enjoyed his posts. And you're right about us getting robbed. A Dback or UNH meltdown would have been great to witness. It's happening on Facebook.

RE Albany Fane: Are you think of danefan? He was fairly moderate, IIRC.

Good on you for working to help others. :thumb:

But I wouldn't equate Trump with the whole of the Republican Party. Trump is the response to years of the government shitting on middle-class people and ignoring them. I can't believe we actually have marriages falling apart of over this.

He was elected, and just as I and many others predicted, our courts are checking him. Our legislature will check him. He's not going to get his way all the time and his schtick is going to be tiresome, even for Republicans. The RNC and DNC are to blame for Trump. They've ignored the avg voter, were shady and In a crowded field of establishment candidates and nuts ( like Carson) he was the only person that sounded like the average voter.

Something else to consider, the DNC bench isn't deep. The BEST that the party of diversity could put up were two, old white people.

That's the thing...in order to fix something, you have to acknowledge the problem. Instead, dback II supports the liars and whack job mob scene that he has joined, and simply spews out insults about the morality of anyone who opposes his way of thinking. :ohno:

Hmmm...closed minded Muslin hard liners do the same thing.

And THIS is what is wrong with the morally bankrupt Dems...always pointing fingers and making emotionally charged accusations while ignoring the glaring problems of their own party.

Hey, I lied to you and tried to rig the vote....but look over there...a shiny object named Putin!

The Dems have shown their intolerance with their violent protests. The Dems robbed Bernie...and then tried to get their sheeple to ignore the bold faced, cheating lies their leaders (hello Brazille, hello, Wasserman Shultz, hello Clinton), told. You have fallen for it and, worse, doubled down by signing up to join the liars in the DNC...and suddenly pretending to have morals while continuing to sling insults at anyone who disagrees with you.

THAT is moral bankruptcy.

Oh, and suddenly, the Dems care about the Constitution. :dunce:
That's the same sentence I perked up on!

Don't care about the Constitution?

Tell that to the best qualified SCOTUS nominee of the past 100 years - versus all those "strict constructionist" Democrats

Nah...I'm not a Republican. :coffee:

But, I am not surprised that you rush to a weak conclusion based upon your own feewings.

I simply pointed out that Trippitty-do-dah decided (and it is a decision) to go full out on stupid during this election cycle. It is obvious that he went over to dback and UNH's way of thinking, which is to say that he is finally using some silly excuse to start displaying the intolerance and ignorance that has been bottled up inside of him, but that he claims is only the characteristic of other side...those people who don't think like him.

Trump/the GOP didn't make Mr. Lemniscate think that way...he has always been this way but he has hidden that side of him. He should be thankful to Trump for opening the closet door so that the agenda is no longer a secret. :thumb:

I appreciate the sentiments. This board is mostly full of good people who at least understand that all points of views are needed to balance each other out. I used to have great arguments with conservatives, but I now feel dismayed by people stroking Trump's dick, as if they voraciously live through his successes and feel personally criticized when people call him out on his bullshit.

But I take solace in the fact that history is unkind to people like Trump, his staff, and the current crop GOP legislators. Even if they don't live to see the day, they'll go down in the books as a callous part of the American experiment. And for Trump, a man which has always desired to to be universally loved, it must be eating him up that a legacy of being hated is what he'll leave behind. A very small part of me feels bad for him because I don't think he ever thought the ramifications through when he embarked on his journey to the Presidency. But it is what it is; the history books will not be good to him.

ps. I don't ever plan to "rise" through the ranks of the DNC so I doubt I'll ever see corruption if there is any (and I'm sure there is). This is all low-level stuff I've been helping with.

More homoerotic insults from the tolerant, morally bankrupt Left.

BTW, you won't see any corruption because you won't bother to look for any. There are none so blind as those that will not see.

Remember, I am here to help...you might want to look (deep inside yourself...don't blame others) into what is causing so much of your intolerant, passive-aggressive behavior. History does not look kindly on blatantly hypocritical people such as yourself. :thumb:

Trip is a smart dude. I don't agree with him on everything and I have almost as much loathing for the DNC at this point as you guys. It should be apparent that I'm not a fan of the duopoly.

But realistically, the two parties are still in power, so I'm no more bothered by him becoming active and affecting a positive change from within than I would be if Ivy were doing the same for the Republicans and all their warts.

I just don't feel inclined to lose my shit over it.

Now, the fact that Trip's follow up suggests he's not interested in affecting a real change at this point and simply volunteering gives me pause. In that case I'd rather see him help with the Greens.

Now, the fact that Trip's follow up suggests he's not interested in affecting a real change at this point and simply volunteering gives me pause.
Sorry it took you so long to understand Trippin'Out's position that he won't try to affect change within his new religion. Some of us were able to pick up on that not-so-subtle/nuancey thing a while back.

So far, all the neighbors, inspectors, permitting reviewers, and local gov't officials have been incredibly supportive. I myself have been housing immigration layers from the east coast that have traveled to help refugees pro-bono affected by Trump's EO.
And how does bringing in more refugees to the US (unless they are STEM or highly educated) benefit this country? We certainly don't need more cheap labor (not with 90 some million out of the workforce and 11-20 million illegals alteady here).

For the most part the only immigrants who at this point can benefit the US are:
-STEM
-other highly educated (masters, PHDs)
-high net worth
