Point #1:BlackFalkin wrote: Point #1: Im sorry guys, but the truth hurts! Its not smart to totally kick a guy for making a bad decision. its just not.
Point #2:After Ursus, Dback, & maybe Appa.. I am the smartest person on CSdot com
Not knocking em for making a bad decision, I'm knocking em for getting caught. Phelps lost a lot of sponsorships for smokin' dope. Irvin was arrested numerous times. Iverson, not the kind of bad decisions I'm talking about... never been busted for drug use or jumped into the stands throwing punches at fans.
The point I was making originally is that it's a well known fact that both College Athletes and Students use drugs and drink heavily and that the smarter Athletes and Students don't get busted for it. Does it mean I don't think that athlete is good? Of course not, your list proves that, Irvin possibly the greatest CB of all time and Phelps the greatest swimmer. Also, JMU DE J.D. Skolnitsky broke NCAA rules testing positive this year and ended up being signed as a NFL free agent. However, knocking a teams coaching staff or the NCAA for following the rules and avoiding penalties that hurt the football team years later is stupid. Thus to point #2

The coach as well as everyone else knows these guys are gonna party. So why act surprised (and boot em off the team) when he gets caught?

I agree, I've known plenty of athletes and kids who've broken the drug or alcohol use of the school and have only been suspended. You can see the parity between schools... just look into the SEC and you'll see that these kids get suspended for a game or two... if that. I think it's just some schools set higher standards for their athletes than the students, which I can understand. They are one of the faces of the University. A football player getting arrested for possession is going to make more news than your average student.
If the coach lays out those standards for his players, should he be criticized when he follows through? I understand what you're saying when you think the program will be hurt, which is entirely possible... but if you're a player or a student and you want to use or drink underage... don't broadcast it to the public, you're setting yourself up.

Sounds like the WR that got kicked off the team was dealing drugs, and now I'll wait for blackfalkin to tell me that all good teams need drug dealers.

First, another player has been dismissed from the team, receiver Sidney Haynes. Craig Bohl will only say that he violated team rules and acted in a way that is unbecoming for a Bison player. Campus security and NDSU police show no record of arrest, and our sources tell me it is not
Drug or alcohol related. He's the third player this spring to get the boot.

Big man it's up to you how you how you wanna treat thins but I will just tell you that is very close to what the Bison fans were doing to Montana up until about 2 months ago. I'm just saying that because I'm sure you don't wanna be lumped in with a lot of those dicks. BTW I am definitely not referring to the group of Bison fans we have on this site at the current time. They are all decent and good fans and I do feel bad for you guys. Bohl is coming off as a mean, nasty, no shit taking son of a bitch. He has a very good chance of making it into my top 5 all time FCS (Non Grizzly) Coaching Staff if he can make a bunch of Salty Dogs out of what he has left in the cupboard.DJH wrote:

In hindsight, wish BH had done the same in Missoula. We didn't win the NC WITH JD Quinn, we certainly could have NOT won it WITHOUT him.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:UAH... yepUrsus A. Re: NDSU loses two more players
NDSU will be fine, maybe a 6-5 season. None of the players that have been booted were big impact players. Mostly depth and potential. I like what Bohl is doing, getting rid of the players that have more important endevors than the football team or classwork. Guess I missed all the Montana bashing, but there are lots of fanatics out there, and I can be one.BlackFalkin wrote:

Re: NDSU loses two more players
You could have missed it but I don't know how. Thundar & Steel Curtain were two off the top of my head and BisonBacker did a little as well but he turned out to be a pretty decent guy anyway. And then there was someone that had the Sig on AGS that said something ot the effect "The amount of criminals in Football decreases dramatically the further you get away from Missoula, Montana." So there was a good amount from the NDSU side.Gil Dobie wrote:NDSU will be fine, maybe a 6-5 season. None of the players that have been booted were big impact players. Mostly depth and potential. Losing that many players could very well affect the success of the program in the short-term.Ursus A. Orginally I heard Sidney broke the law, but now it sounds like he had issues with behavior and attitude. Bohl is definitely running a tight ship and a kid that is transferring into the program better come in with the right attitude.
The three players who got DUIs are still suspended indefinitely and Bohl won't even tell them their punishiment until they take care of their off the field issues first.

They have to lay down in the middle of the street/highway, like in that scene from The Program.FargoBison wrote:The three players who got DUIs are still suspended indefinitely and Bohl won't even tell them their punishiment until they take care of their off the field issues first.
Except they have to do it on Friday night when the bars are getting out.
