Not shoveling. Sorry, you live outside my acceptable jurisdiction.Gil Dobie wrote:We have 1-77 inches of snow in the forecast, and I have a 400 ft driveway. What are you doing tomorrow?bandl wrote: Nah, I don't really like to help people do anything, other than shovel their driveways
Besides, it's going to be 71 here tomorrow so I won't have a plow on or any shovels in my vehicle. It'll be warmer than it was on our last day in Orlando last week!

It's like comparing apples to oranges. Magic was a great point guard and Jordan was a great shooting guard. Both are in the top 10 all-time. If I had to start a team with one or the other, I really don't know which one I would pick first.

I know next to nothing about basketball. I watched it in the late 80s and 90s (grew up a Chicago Bulls fan) and lost interest sometime around 2000.Gil Dobie wrote:I don't have LeBron, Shaq or Duncan in my top 10 yet, top 25 currently, IMO. I'm sure you can make good arguments for Jerry West, Charles Barkley, Pippen, Kerr and others being in the Top 15.

Pretty close to yours. LeBron, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan all on the cusp, but here's mine in no particular order. Westbrook and Durant have the skills to be close by the end of their careers.Ibanez wrote:I know next to nothing about basketball. The 'hype machine' you're complaining about made/makes heroes/household names out of Dr. J, Johnson, Jordan, Shaq, Karl Malone, Wilt, Curry, Bill Russel, Garnett, Barkley, Iverson, Robinson, Ewing, Pippen, Rodman. Quick, how many WHITE, famous NBA players can you name?

John Stockton.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Bill Walton, as SH said John Stockton, Rick Barry, Kevin McHale, Tom Chambers, Dirk "The Ugly German" Nowitski, Bobby Jones. Probably missed a few. Some finished up in the early 1970's like Jerry West, Billy Cunningham, Dave DeBuschere, Jerry Lucas, etc.

George was a great guy. When I had T-Wolves season tickets, he would sit in the front row at the end of the court, a few seats over was Kirby Puckett. Behind the visitors bench was Warren Moon, Darin Nelson and other Vikings. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis at half-court, usually with the person singing the National Anthem. I asked him one time if he had all his championship rings. He said his wife took them all and made one ring, which he kindly showed it to me.dal4018 wrote:How about the 40s starting with GEORGE MIKAN!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:

Ton of White stars in the 1950's. Lakers had Mikan, Jumpin Jim Pollard, Vern Mikkelson, Slater Martin. There was Bob Cousy, Bob Pettit, Clyde Lovelette, Bob Davis, Paul Arizin, and a few more I would have to look up.
