Trumpsitting 101

According some of his campaign aides...

1). Shower Baby Trump with praise

2).Do not leave Baby Trump unattended.

3). Have Baby Trump's friends say nice things about him.

You seriously can't make this shit up.

A former senior campaign official said Nunberg and his successor, former communications director Jason Miller, were particularly skilled at using alternative media like Breitbart, Washington Examiner, Infowars and the Daily Caller to show Trump positive coverage.

And once they got the stories published, campaign officials with large numbers of Twitter followers would tweet them out....

The in-person touch is also important to keeping Trump from running too hot. One Trump associate said it’s important to show Trump deference and offer him praise and respect, as that will lead him to more often listen. And if Trump becomes obsessed with a grudge, aides need to try and change the subject, friends say. Leaving him alone for several hours can prove damaging, because he consumes too much television and gripes to people outside the White House.

Wow. A person in a position of power, who has been used to a lifetime of power and wealth and privilege, likes to have their ego stroked. What an absolute shocker, easily the first time I'm sure we've ever encountered this. Doesn't mean that he isn't a baby (I've always said he's a buffoon), but I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is so unique.

No wonder he's been saying and tweeting those outrageous quotes, if he's being fed stories from Breitbart, Washington Examiner, Infowars and the Daily Caller.

Why is this a national story?

What happened to Aleppo? What happened to Brexit? What happened to Crimea? What happened to terrorists in Afghanistan (yeah, we still have our folks there)? What happened to terrorists in Libya?

Amazing that all the Lame Stream Media is focusing on silly stories about Trump instead of focusing on everything that led to Obama trying to rescue the world from Bush inspired bad guys.

What a fvcked up bunch of media clowns we have. Are there no real journalists anymore? Is there anyone covering the beautiful things our Saudi allies, with our full support, are doing in Yemen? How about the wonderful things going on in the Sinai Peninsula? Did Syrian suddenly get absorbed by a black hole (no homo, no racist)?

How is the economy in Greece? Still humming along?

I talked to a guy from Taiwan today...he never saw a crocus before. A huge field of them 2 blocks from my house and he was taking pictures. Grad student, environmental engineering. Fun conversation...this is a nice town for international news and perspective. He thinks Americans, and American news outlets, are whacked (he used the words, "acting like children") for spending so much time on Trump's personality while ignoring world events.

It is absolutely amazing that the news organizations have made it their goal to find anything and everything about Trump to criticize. And stupid Americans are eating it up like candy. New York City and Libs try to regulate what people eat because they say things are bad for people's health...yet they allow unfettered nonsense to percolate daily through our media outlets.

Seriously...the media is catering to a very ignorant crowd that has the emotional stability of a 5 year old (yes, JSO, I just used your logic).

Fun times.

And blame the Electoral College system. We now have prima facie evidence that the Electoral College system is not a good idea. Might have been a good idea 200+ years ago. But if it can result in an absurdity like Donald Trump being elected President while getting a lower percentage of the overall vote than Mitt Romney got it's time to seriously consider getting rid of it.

Yes it's true that there are a lot of problems with the United States electorate. But the United States electorate voted against this guy. He's in because of a system that allows for a person to gain that office even when most people in the country don't want that.

Neither candidate had 50 percent of the popular vote. It's not the electoral college systems fault that it was Hillary vs Trump. Many of the people I know that voted for Trump, voted party line, or hated Hillary. Those that hated Hillary were Dems and Reps. The Hillary haters obviously voted Trump or third party.

Trump has been president for just over a month and the entire time has been a shit show. Of course the media is going to focus on it. Not to mention Trump calling out MSM for being fake news and now a report comes out that his people planted fake news to make him feel better.

What a fucking joke.

Trump does seem very easily manipulated by flattery or by criticism.

I honestly wonder if the donks have come up with a plan to exploit that.

Indeed, JSO with another illogical post. No one who ran would've received 50% of the vote, so what should we have done, declared the election void and just do it all over again, but say, with just the top 2 finishers? Still won't change that half the people didn't want them originally. Silly point.

Americans in general are woefully under-informed on foreign policy and world events compared to other countries. No argument on that.

I agree that establishment media like CNN, Fox, and Huffpo have been over the top in their reporting of Trump. If I'm looking for less click baity news that reduces the hysteria and fluff I tend to wander over to places like the Spokesman Review (old school newspaper that runs AP leads), the Atlantic Monthly, the Intercept, and the Guardian. BTW, I just checked the Guardian's site and the first headline is "Syria/US Drone Strike Kills top al Quaida Leader" followed by 8 of the next 12 headlines being about a jailed journalist in Ethiopia, the DNC chair election, and Bill Paxton and not Trump related. The ones that due to pertain to Trump are fairly pertinent since...you know...he's the POTUS and all that.

I'm not as apoplectic about the lack of non-Trump topics because it's still there if you go to the right places.

But Trump is also an extraordinary case that garners more attention. He's a change agent who goes rogue with twitter posts, and continuously is on the offensive against all perceived slights. If you're unwilling to admit it, that's a you problem.

Now, speaking of "missing the point". You replied to the OP which was a linked story on the inner workings of providing care for Baby Trump. It's a not-so-surprising observation (quoting his own campaign staff) of the little Baby Trump that was offered by a website called "Politico". Hmmm, not sure what their focus is but I wonder if a hint might lie in the name.

And the interesting thing was that most Stein voters would have chosen Hillary, while most Johnson voters would have chosen Trump. So, Trump still would have won the election.
