Obamacare just provided more revenue streams (tax payers and young and healthy policy holders) to feed the health care leviathan.
Not point in cutting those streams off. Bring costs down and get rid of waste and fraud in the system and kill the leviathan.
BigHealthCo would prefer protecting only "FIT" policy holders. Bottom line, donchaknow.
Example: Aetna overall profits in the last two years have exceeded $9 billion but "OBAMACARE POLICY HOLDERS HAVE COST US $490m! over the same period ..." So. The arse-clowns at Aetna pull out of the Marketplace using this as a lame excuse ...

BUT, among the biggest Rightie Denials on ObamaCare (thus far) is their failure to recognize: 1) In the short-term ObamaCare extended Medicare solvency over ten years; and 2) In the long-term ObamaCare cut the 75-year actuarial imbalance of Medicare over 25%, reducing it from $122+ trillion to $90 trillion.

Like I was saying earlier, do the full repeal 1st, same repeal that Congress passedover a year ago and Obomba vetoed.

Right. Which is one of the things that separates the healthcare industry apart from the fur coat industry. Market solutions take on a whole new meaning with something you truly need. Or to put it another way, being monetarily compensated for doing a service, above the cost of providing that service, is the problem. We tried to take the profit out of making vaccines, because, you know, people really need vaccines, and that market dried up in terms of output and innovation to the point that we need to beg people to make them. I don't have the answer myself, but considering our demand for top shelf medicine or services at the drop of a hat at preferably little or no cost to the patient is going to be hard to solve.Ibanez wrote:Profit is the problem....BDKJMU wrote:

In 75 years at a 2% annual growth rate that would equal about 82 trillion. So you're off by nearly a factor of 50.. Talk about math challenged

cumulative
[kyoo-myuh-luh-tiv]
adjective
1. increasing or growing by accumulation or successive additions.
Not only are you a Deplorable. You are an exceptionally stupid Deplorable at that.
The cumulative GDP of the USA will exceed $82 Trillion in the next 4 years, Mr Darwin Award Winner, even after The Trumptanic craps all over America.
Oh ... and by the way:
Federal Judge: Aetna lied about quitting Obamacare

Care for more spanking, Deplorable? You seem to be a sadomasochist of exceptional order and I love to humiliate dullards like you and your big chum, FusterCluck....it's clear that "Aetna tried to leverage its participation in the exchange for favorable treatment" from regulators.
The judge said there is "persuasive evidence" that when Aetna later withdrew from the 17 counties in question, "it did not do so for business reasons, but instead to follow through on the threat that it made earlier."

I was responding to BDK's major swing and a miss to my post on page 3, along with his typical fact- and substance-free personal attack.Ibanez wrote:...

What the Righties have ignored is ObamaCare extended Medicare solvency over ten years in the short-term and cut the 75-year actuarial imbalance of Medicare over 25% in the long-term -- done primarily by rolling-back "Part C", or Medicare Advantage.
Ironically, BDK precipitated this with his old sig that said the future 75-year unfunded liabilities were $90 trillion --- several years earlier (before the ACA went into effect) I had read the SSA Annual Report that pegged the 75-year unfunded liabilities at $120+ trillion. Ain't that some sheet? Thanks, BDK
So I trolled him, not knowing he would not only take the bait, but the hook, line, sinker, rod, reel and a big chunk of the pier ...
He's a bright guy but whiffed on the "cumulative" part of the statement --- claiming that annual GDP in 75 years will be in the range of $82 trillion. A fair estimate, but he failed to "successively add" the previous 74 years of "accumulated GDP" which will amount to the $4,000+ trillion.AND, before you math-challenged Rightie lunk-heads get your panties in a bunch over "OMG! Trillions!!" . . . over the next 75 years, the cumulative GDP of the United States of America will exceed $4,000+ trillion.
THE POINT BEING, fixing the cumulative '75-year unfunded liabilities' is effectively less than 1% of the cumulative '75-year GDP' and can easily be fixed by our Congress Critters (instead of using the FEAR! of TRILLIONS! as a political wedge). Changes in policy, raising the age, means-testing, fees/taxes, etc., and of course, THE DEATH PANELS! (mmmwhhhah HA HA HA!)
The other thing: Aetna tried to bribe the Justice Department last Summer into approving their mega-merger with Humana by threatening to withdraw from the Marketplace (they did after the merger was denied on anti-trust grounds). They simply got caught showing their ass ...

I don't know why everybody is so up in arms about this health care bill. Republicans that don't like it know it isn't going to pass the Senate if it gets past the House, and Democrats are forgetting the age old adage that when your enemy is heading off a cliff you shouldn't hinder him (because they're stupid)

I never knew he existed until 30 minutes ago (haven't done Cable TV for 24 years). This was precipitated by a ‘Catheter Cowboy’ search -- a new ad which will be airing on 'Fox & Friends' in the DC area tomorrow.
The actual ‘Cowboy’ ad airs at the 17:00 mark, but the entire 18+ min are pure gold!
