What if it was the Trump people who leaked this tax return to someone associated with Maddow?

$150,000,000 in income? And this guy is supposed to be a billionaire?
$150M is 15% of $1B. Personally I could give a shit, but I would say that strengthens the case that he is a billionaire. The interesting question is what drove the income, real estate (which would be surprising since real estate is usually sheltered by depreciation) or the brand.

That's a good thing.

But there's probably still a few CEO's not as full of shit and self interest out there.
He's a CEO the same way Michael Jordan was a Baseball player...

Trump is really excellent at being a billionaire's son
who can put on dads old suit and tie and run a half dozen corporations into the ground

Jordan can win six titles and 5 MVP awards in the NBA
and go on to be a career .202 hitter with zero power in the lowest levels of professional baseball

:coffee:

Hey, they're both on TV a lot... So there's that too
He also defeated the squad from Moron Mountain who had stolen the talent of basketball stars such as Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley. :thumb:

Jordan was a much better baseball player than Trump is a CEO. Belittling Jordan, doesn't may Trump any better.

Et tu, CNN?

I can't believe so many libs on twitter were salivating expecting something explosive from tax returns from over a decade ago that MSNBC somehow got their hands on.

Maddow should be fired for this entire cycle of non-news
a 12 year old 1040EZ really..?

My guess is it's probably not real and who cares...

As I watched CNN & MSNBC make fools of themselves last night looking for something that wasn't there all I could think of was Geraldo Rivera opening Al Capone's secret vault. What a TV gaffe. Gotcha journalism at its finest.

It's actually funny that by them botching this they are throwing water on their own fire instead of gasoline.

The more I think about it this whole thing makes me go "hmm"

Back when Trump was railing about Obama's birth cert I was convinced the reason he wouldn't release it was because Obama was trolling Trump and the rest of the conspiracy crowd

I still think that- and it was brilliant, really- work the trailer park denizens into a lather, see how many people you can get to basically discredit themselves; look like fools

I'm really starting to think Maddow got trolled.... with his ego I'll guarantee Trump knows Obama trolled him, and this seems like a play right out of that book

I'm not sure there are people that shrewd in his cap, though

And I wonder what the odds are that Trump's team set this whole thing up...
The Trump Team would never resort to such under-handed tactics. That's John Baron's job :D

The whole thing does have a funny smell about it -- especially the 'Client Copy' aspect. I'd love to see it put in context with the release of 20 years of full returns (yeah ... like that is going to happen).

And, sadly, the way the tax code is written (with regard to real estate & stuff) it's likely his 'income tax' was minimal and he was smacked with the AMT (the amount of which he can deduct on the 2006 return 'above the line' which would then kick-in AMT for 2006).

And, sadly Part II, the way the loss carry-forward rules are written, the Trumptanic is likely still writing sheet down from the last millennium.

AND, sadly Part III, you now know how Uncle Sugar currently gives away more in 'Tax Expenditures' each year than they collect in personal income taxes.

I'd say that's the highest probability of how it came to her, Trump leaks all the time.

Anybody with the amount of real estate investments he has is going to have conflicts of interest

That's why I keep saying this is going to be a very interesting 4 years - because our government over time has been designed to make sure that nobody who actually makes things or navigates our financial structures would want the job. It just isn't set up for a Trump or a Gates or a Carnegie or Rockerfeller. Think of it as job security for career politicians who only know how to schmooze Big Defense and Big Labor and not much else

Trump's track record shows he hasn't always been the most adept person at navigating the private sector either - but that's not the point -

The next 4 years will determine whether the "CEO President" is a viable thing

Establishment politicians both left and right are going to do their best to make sure it doesn't happen

For as much as they don't want the jobs they do seem to have them all...
