You know I think that at least where I live there actually is bad weather for fishing. But it's not rain. It's the bluebird weather immediately following the passage of a cold front. When I'm looking at going fishing one of the main things is whether or not the wind has a northerly component. If the weather forecast says the wind is going to have a northerly component I usually don't go.

If a front is going to be approaching and the wind's going to have a southerly component I DO want to go. If it's going to be raining all the better as far as I'm concerned because it means there will be fewer other people out there. It's not going to stop me. I've got five different sets of rain gear for different rain weather circumstances.

The Atlantic article on Portland being the "Whitest" city was interesting. Didn't know they were the only state that forbade Blacks from living within it's borders, when it became a state. I think the term Neoliberal Racism makes a lot of sense, even when looking at liberal Minnesota and many other "Progressive Communities". The article mentions African American's moving to the fringes of the city. When you take into account the Portland Metro, they drop to #8 for Metro Areas with over a million population.
