Wild keep winning, even though players are missing games with the mumps.

Wild lose on a bad goal to Blue Jackets 1-0. Rooting for all of the top 4 in the Metropolitan to keep winning and hoping the Rangers get the #4 spot in the division which would 99.9% chance put them as the Wild Card spot against the Atlantic division teams. Much easier path than having to go through Caps and CBJ/Pitt.

Lundqvist moves into a tie for 10th for most wins with Grant Fuhr on his 35th bday with a spectacular performance in a 2-1 Ranger win over Boston.

NHL Standings are:
Caps - 93 points (Metro) - 63 games
Wild - 88 points (Central) - 62 games
CBJ - 86 points (Metro) - 62 games
Hawks - 85 points (Central) - 63 games
Pens - 84 points (Metro) - 62 games
Rangers - 84 points (Metro) - 64 games
San Jose - 81 points (Pacific) - 62 games
Habs - 78 points (Atlantic) - 64 games

Metropolitan is on top with the Central's top 2 team competitive with them.

Yeah, this format is a shit show IMO. Your reward for finishing first in the NHL is playing the Pens in the second round. :suspicious:

Caps win 1-0 over Devils at home. Lone goal was on a power play. Damn refs.

I was at the last Minnesota North Stars home game, at it was against the Black Hawks. Still remember the booze bottle flying over Eddie Belfours head. Fans were yelling Secord sucks, even though he had not played for Chicago for a couple years. Got to see the Hawks win the last one ever in the series. No postgame stuff, so the ice was plastered with cups, seat arm rests, and whatever fans could find to throw. I took my arm rest home, had Modano sign it years later, and sold it for a good price. My buddy, the equipment manager and Modano, got in trouble with the GM for selling T-Shirts before the game, with all the player facsimile autographs, saying We'll Miss you Minnesota. I bought a handful of programs, as they soldout an hour before the game started.

It's a good thing I enjoy watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs even when the Kings don't make it...cause it looks like it's going to happen AGAIN...

The Avs have been eliminated for a good 3 weeks now. I honestly think you have to try to suck as badly as they have this year. :ohno:

Big game here in DC tonight with the Blue Jackets coming to town. They lost last night so they will either be tired or looking for revenge. A Caps regulation win would go a long way to securing one of the top two slots in the Metro and avoid having to play the Pens in the first round. Ridiculous that the Rangers will end up in fourth place in the division and get to play a worse team than the first three teams do. Playoffs need to be revamped ASAP.

The Blackhawks name is offensive and racist. They need a new name that is more gender friendly and neutral.

Shootout win. Better than a loss, but I hate all these three point games.

Shootout loss for the Pens last night. Even at full strength (which the Pens are far from at the moment) Ottawa is one team I wouldn't want to face in the playoffs.
