So he let them make the first move — and he exposed two things about them: first, that they had not come up with a plan that was ready for prime time; second, that they had not done any of the political legwork necessary to sell their plan to voters.

Trump gave Speaker Paul Ryan and the House Republican leadership enough rope to hang themselves. Instead of dictating terms to him, they will now depend on him to save them, politically. They must accept whatever plan he will put forward.

Saw this and it reminded me of this theory.

Oh for Pete's sake. When are people going to stop with this stuff of thinking Trump is this brilliant strategist who has this big plan. He's a buffoon. All that happened just now is that he put his support behind SOME plan to repeal "Obamacare" without having any clue as to what was actually in it. There was no cunning strategy on his part.

I don't know why people continue to keep trying to make this guy out to be something he's not. He's not a brilliant businessman. He didn't write the Art of the Deal. He's not good at deal making. He's failed at more efforts than he's succeeded in. He's a flipping flim flam man that, unfortunately, was able to flim flam enough people to win through the electoral college system.

Not that I read your board diarrhea, but I'm curious

You've written War and Peace about twenty times over so far. I'm guessing it is statistically impossible for you to not be repeating yourself over and over. Yes?

Well, JSO is right. The GOP hasn't put forth any serious ideas wrt health care. No reason to think Trump and Ryan have anything resembling smart policy or smart politics in the works.

Obama could've came up with the shittiest health care bill imagineable and if it just insured the uninsureable the GOP would self-immolate trying to kill it.

The health care issue is the bane of the Republicans and it won't change under Trump.

This is the same as voting to repeal Obamacare 50 times.... a cute stunt to play to the base. There's no intention of actually doing it.
The bill was not voted on and considered a symbolic jesture.
Shitty editing aside, that's the only sentence that matters.
No I get it. It has practicly zero chance of being passed and is therefore symbolic. Doesn't change the fact its still what should be done..

Congress should waste their time passing (or voting) for symbolic legislation?

Have there been any studies comparing how the ACA performs between different states?

E.G.: I know a few people here who've benefited tremendously from the ACA. My family's premiums and coverage are pretty much the same as before and we've been able to keep our providers while switching insurance companies 3 times since it was enacted.
