Sirens hit 40-yard FG!!!

At the halftime gun last night, Sacramento Sirens' kicker Jennifer Bloom nailed a 40-yard FG as the Sirens discovered an offensive weapon they've ignored for 10 years. Bloom also hit a short one (in the 20-30 range) in the first quarter to keep the Sirens in last night's 20-19 loss to the LA Amazons. An unfortunate decision to try for two in the third quarter was the difference. Sac had a shot to win it with a third FG with less than a minute left, but a high snap caused holder Chantelle Powers to get snowed under.

In the process, LA's vaunted offensive attack was exposed for the sham that it is. They had two 50-plus TD runs in the first half, but were completely stumped by the Sac defense in the second half. Potential playoff opponents had better be watching the game film of this one.

Sac already had a great running game. The discovery of the kicking game bodes well for the future. The key now is to find a OL.

I don't think you understand. Women's football isn't something guys are gonna want to watch unless there is lingerie. I don't give a crap what the analogy is. It must constitute an achievment that this girl kicked a 40 yd. field goal and a lot of high school boys all over the nation do that on a weekly basis so let's not kid ourselves about the gimmick aspect of all of this.
