May Day Protests

Post by Ibanez »

I'm going to leave this thread here. I'm sure there will be some good signs coming out of the protests today.

There's one occurring at 10:30 a block away and i'd go see what it's all about....but I have to work.

Vaca said the gathering at Trade and Tryon will be a first of its kind in Charlotte for the ongoing fight against federal immigration policies.

Among the Comunidad Colective’s demands:

End all CMPD motor vehicle checkpoints.
Cut CMPD funding and “reinvest” the money in housing, health and education programs.
Decriminalize or create alternative forms of accountability for: crimes of survival, such as theft and sex work;

Theft work? Is that stealing b/c you have to? :suspicious:

I see a bunch of Hispanics from my window walking around in my neighbors' yards. They aren't carrying signs or chanting though. They are carrying weedeaters and leaf blowers. Weird.
