The extremes right and left flanks, IMO, were louder and more hateful in 2016 and do not reflect the vast majority of people. Again, my opinion.

Maybe not vast, but it sure feels like I'm surrounded by it. Of course you have to keep in mind that I live in a VERY blue county. The county officials have done things since the election that I've never seen before in my life. Staging a rally using Hillary logos to protest Trump... on the County's dime. They just did this...

All nine members of the Montgomery County Council, who all are Democrats, voted Tuesday to pass a resolution "to condemn President Trump's federal budget proposal and to urge the United States Congress to reject it on behalf of Montgomery County residents."

I've never seen an act like this before. Sure, it's a meaningless resolution, but why are they wasting time doing this?? It seems to me like more people are being sucked in than ever, not just that the extremes are louder.

Wow. Just...wow. That's wasteful. Republicans up here LOVE saying they want smaller Gov't and want privacy. They preach on and on about how the gays are pushing their agenda on us straights.

But who is it that enacted HB2? It was straight white republicans in response to....an anti-discrimination ordinance in Charlotte.

Overnight Republicans in North Carolina suddenly realized they've fearful of going to the bathroom in public. Oh the horror of having to go take a piss and wondering for the person beside you is really a woman. What is the man is just a pervert? Or wants a peek? There were quite a few people being interviewed saying they are even fearful of using the bathroom b/c someone can look in between the door and the wall. People not wanting grown men using the women's bathroom and scaring their daughters (valid, but that's not going to stop a pervert.) This bill was pointless and has zero enforcement.


They claim it's privacy...I don't know. Maybe it is. I see it as a law that "fixed" a problem that didn't exist and now is causing economic problems. The NCAA meets this week to schedule out the next 6 Years. How many conference/championship games do you think NC will get? Paypal pulled out of locating here with a $20M annual impact to the city. Millions of dollars has fled the state. Maybe some it will go to SC.
IIRC, the Presbyterians and the Catholics have condemned it.

Yeah, I know the odds are against this passing, possibly due to RINO Conks in the House and Senate who supported last month's Obamcare Lite bill, now being on the fence or against for the revised bill. But this brings them closer than last month, as the Freedom Caucus was the biggest stumbling block. Remember, it took 14 months for Obamacare to pass, and that was with much larger donk majorities, and a supermajority when it was actually passed.

The main thing is that they're not really talking about repealing the AFA. I mean, I guess they can do it in a way so as to say that they technically repealed and replaced it. But what they're really doing is tweaking it. Boehner was right when he said they'll just tweak it and put a Republican box around it to try to make it look like they did something:

I wouldn't say it was rushed. They've been working on it for the last 5-6 weeks since they pulled the other one in late March. And the majority of this new bill is the same as the one that was pulled in late March. On that one there had been people had been working on for Trumps 1st couple months in office...

I hope KY is right though, and this doesn't pass. The one they pulled in late March was an Obamacare light bill. This one is less Obamacare lite, but still Obamcare lite. If it passes Trump will be able to declare a major legislative victory, and it will be a big boost to conks in the short run. But in the long run it will still be a giant turd, & conks will then shoulder the blame for how shitty it is. Better to leave Obamacare as 100% donk, let it die on its own (which it will do, because it is simply unsustainable), and let the donks take the blame for it when it collapses..

Republicans don't want a penalty for not having health insurance...but they want a penalty for not having health insurance for 63 or more days? A tax is a tax is a tax....
