Four interviews on Saturday:

Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher
Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe
Sen. John Cornyn
Judge Michael J. Garcia of the New York Court of Appeals

One career FBI agent... but, probably has no chance.

I think it's pretty clear it's going to be Cornyn... and, it's going to be hard to get any Senate Republicans to break away to vote against another Republican Senator. I hope I'm just cynical... but, I think he's their pick already.

Holy crap. Just found out Clinton was the last to fire a director. Not talking about why, just Trump has that in common with Bill. Trump has been able to point out how the left did something similar for almost everything.

Is that by plan, or is there just so much sketchy shit on both sides it's almost always going to happen that way?

Comey unleashed? I wonder if Republicans will let this happen.

Comey obviously still can't testify about the investigation or classified material... but, he can testify about conversations with the White House - which he couldn't do before. Like Sally Yates and her testimony on conversations with McGahn.
Mr. Comey made no comment, but later in the day he declined a request to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday. According to a close associate of Mr. Comey, he is willing to testify, but wants it to be in public.

If Republicans allow it... Trump better have his tapes queued up and ready to tweet.

I never took the tapes to mean physical, just that they both know their conversations have been recorded through routine surveillance.

Clearly a bluff - no way he summons Comey to the House to demand his loyalty and tapes it.

Interesting take...
I've been thinking along these lines for some time now.

I've assumed Trump is guilty of.... something, and I've assumed that he is not, and worked from both angles. The behaviors we are seeing out of the White House are more understandable if Trump is clean (and assuming that Trump is easily aggravated). The second paragraph is key.

I think Flynn is the guy on the hook, but that is independent of the Trump campaign. He likely would be in hot water even if there wasn't this focus on Russian meddling.
He sure acts guilty, everybody he fires is related to the Russian investigation and Russians with ties to Trump are dropping dead all over Russia.

Sounds like obstruction of justice.

:coffee:
President Trump asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting.

“I hope you can let this go,” the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo.

The existence of Mr. Trump’s request is the clearest evidence that the president has tried to directly influence the Justice Department and F.B.I. investigation into links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia.

Mr. Comey wrote the memo detailing his conversation with the president immediately after the meeting, which took place the day after Mr. Flynn resigned, according to two people who read the memo. The memo was part of a paper trail Mr. Comey created documenting what he perceived as the president’s improper efforts to influence a continuing investigation. An F.B.I. agent’s contemporaneous notes are widely held up in court as credible evidence of conversations.

Mr. Comey shared the existence of the memo with senior F.B.I. officials and close associates. The New York Times has not viewed a copy of the memo, which is unclassified, but one of Mr. Comey’s associates read parts of the memo to a Times reporter.

“I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go,” Mr. Trump told Mr. Comey, according to the memo. “He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”

The "Smoking Gun" tape from Watergate that led to Nixon's resignation - revealing Nixon ordered the FBI to cease its investigation of the Watergate break-in

This is going to come back to bite every Republican that keeps enabling this.

Yeah, I know Pence (if he's not implicated) isn't a great option for Democrats or liberals as President. But, I don't give a shit. I'd rather have a debate about policy rather than Trump taking a giant dump all over the Presidency every day.

I'm just wondering how long it's going to take for most Trump supporters to admit that they screwed up by supporting him.

Especially the ones that supported him during the Republican primaries when they had a number of good alternatives to choose from but instead decided to support this childish, incredibly dishonest even by the standards of politicians, buffoon.

Keeping Hillary Clinton out of the White House is not "screwing up". K bye.

Conservative Justice confirmed - check
Wall St up - check
Unemployment down - check

Don't let the liberal media get you in a tizzy.

I think supporters need to simply realize that Trump's a dumb person. He's not curious enough to learn anything, he's certainly not clever enough to analyze complex information (let alone make complex decisions), and the man is definitely not playing 4D chess...whatever that even means.

It should be no shock that a career intelligence executive with decades of experience is able to politically outmaneuver an (illiterate?) real estate "mogul."

Trump's just really stupid.
