Re: Christian Conservatives
Just Outrageous!
I can't believe the Christian right would attempt to use identity politics. Better cut it out or the liberal left will start doing it and campaigns will be about "muh oppression" instead of issues.

You made the jump from large mega churches which even a lot of Christians don't care for to "religion".

No, liberal theologians do not take biblical truth and insert their own narrative, creed and dogma, whereas conservatives take the Bible literally.

I thought that Christianity was better than Islam because Christians don't take 100% of the Bible literally?Jjoey52 wrote:kalm wrote:

Please provide some examples of both conservative and liberal views. I'm not an expert on the Bible and would appreciate the enlightenment. Thanks in advance.Jjoey52 wrote:kalm wrote:

Liberal Theologians would say the words of Jesus were added later, while conservatives would believe eyewitness accounts is one example.

There was a Messiah who lived and died as recorded 2000 years ago, however, 400 years later his "God" given title was changed to Christ by a paganized Roman Church and the message of the bible was changed from being about Israelites to pagans, and then 1100 years after that his God given name was changed from Yeshua to Jesus (with out the consent of the Creator one might add).
Somewhere in the afternath of this stuff we are discussing the "comparitive values" of truth between lefties and righties?
Just asking?

You mean liberals doubt a group of Middle Eastern men were illiterate? And they weren't named Mark or John?Jjoey52 wrote:Liberal Theologians would say the words of Jesus were added later, while conservatives would believe eyewitness accounts is one example.

Not going to get into what the Romans did or did not do. The last book of the Bible was written prior to the year 100.Bisonfanatical wrote:Interesting,Jjoey52 wrote:Liberal Theologians would say the words of Jesus were added later, while conservatives would believe eyewitness accounts is one example.

But all the changes "we" believe in are not from the first books of the first 100 years, but are from "man made" doctrines of the Church of the Roman Empire which twist the message of those books, and this took place much later in history.
My intent was to make the point that both parties attend churches which are solidly based in deception and have no understanding of what "truth" is, yet they want to stand on "truth" to slam each other.
P.S. the small town preacher from the letter above was definately a political hack more than a self proclaimed promoter of some "God’s love".

It's not a difficult concept, Chizz. It's like saying people in New York City represent all Americans when it doesn't even have 5% of the US population.Chizzang wrote: So they're mutually exclusive now..?

Not all churches are activist churches fighting "Christian percecution". The vast majority in fact, are not.
