CBS Is going to have a summer replacement show where the premise is that an asteroid is going to hit the earth and cause massive, if not total human extinction...and apparently there isn't a way to stop it as of the first episode...
This got the wife and I talking...if this was really about to happen, and no one could stop it from happening, would you want to know...or should the government keep it a secret?
If this news was made public, I assume mass hysteria would break out...but you might be able to do a few bucket list items...
So, keep it secret or let the news out???

Yes they should let everybody know because the next step is to start looking for a way to stop it from happening. And you're not going to be able to marshal an effort to stop it from happening if you try to hide it. You're going to have to be open about what's going on in order to devote whatever resources are necessary to the effort.Col Hogan wrote:CBS Is going to have a summer replacement show where the premise is that an asteroid is going to hit the earth and cause massive, if not total human extinction...and apparently there isn't a way to stop it as of the first episode...

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Yes, but you must be absolutely 100% certain the impact is imminent. I don't think the range of where you can have certainty is very long, though.
In these shows, the amount of warning is usually days, but I imagine it would be hours at the most.

I say keep it a secret. The farm animals in Montanada have a difficult enough time fending off people like WTAG, imagine the chaos that would ensue if you told them that they have only 24 hours left.
