Eh, once they brought on Arena and righted the ship qualifying for the World Cup seemed like a foregone conclusion, and the two games this past week just confirm that. Great results, getting 4 point out of these two games was the goal and they met it. Just the third time they've managed to get a point playing at Azteca - gotta win there in qualification some day. Pulisic is the leader of a new generation of US players just coming into focus on the national team - certainly seems like a good future ahead here.

Pulisic is very impressive at such a young age and has proven it at 18 years old. Teams are already ganging up on him.

Bradley's goal was great awareness and touch. Almost got another one too from a ways out that went off the outside post. Was surprised to see Guzan start yesterday over Howard but it worked out well. Nobody was saving the 1 goal he gave up and looked good out there for the most part.

We should be in good shape even if we wind up in 4th after tomorrow. Everyone else has to play Mexico one more time and we get Costa Rica and Panama at home who are currently in 2nd and 4th place while traveling to 5th and 6th place Honduras and Trinidad.

Well, that's not a World Cup year and Pulisic will be 40 years old then and will be retired from the national team. We'll be in Russia in 2018.

Apparently, CLT has a large Mexican population. I was driving through Little "Mexico" yesterday and there are Russia 2018 billboards up (in Spanish), signs that tell you when any Mexican or Central American SC is playing. Actually, in that area, it's not uncommon for most things to be in Spanish only. The Hispanic population here is about 50% Mexican.

It matches the last 22 year period for which there has been no improvement after a bright future for US soccer. :kisswink:

You wouldn't get it....they don't waste money on watering their lawns. That's why there aren't many nice lawns in the hood or poor areas. :twocents:

At least, when i was in Real Estate for 6 years that was my experience.

Should have specified the nice neighborhoods

And believe me, we have plenty of areas with dead grass and cars on cinder blocks.

I'm sure that's the view of someone who's eyes are closed and their hands are covering their closed eyes. And of course, if you continue doing that you'll see no change for the next 22 years as well. Obliviousness is a choice.

Works for me. You've convinced me that US Soccer sucks, so I'll watch whatever it is you say I should watch.

I'm also a fan of Rush now.

US Soccer does suck, but I can't not watch. They are basically the Nats bullpen right now. I watch starters go 7-8 strong innings and then the bullpen gives up 3 runs. Next night, I'm back watching again.

I'm sure in your mind I did lose it. However, I just lean on the evidence that is overwhelming that we're better as a national team today than we were in 1994. The only way to believe otherwise is simply not to be paying attention.

Good one - the FIFA World Rankings. For a guy who has pilloried the inaccuracies and the biases in computer based polls and other ranking systems over the years to now slavishly cling to perhaps the single worst ranking system in the world is just rich in irony. Somewhere Massey and Ralph are probably laughing over your conversion.

Hey, if you can find me a human one, I'd be glad to use it. Surely you must have provided one with the "evidence" you leaned on.

Not even the full team here - Arena's been using the tournament to test out the depth (or lack thereof) of the team. It's a good result so far, but nothing to get too worked up about.

In the early stages. He's put all the regulars back in for the knockout games, yes?
