Among the most vocal critics was Michele Bachmann, a Republican former U.S. representative. On Wednesday she called Noor an "affirmative-action hire by the hijab-wearing mayor of Minneapolis," the Star Tribune reported.

Police records show that one of the complaints closed with no discipline and two remain open. It did not detail the issues involved, and police have not yet released his personnel file.

Noor was sued in June along with two other officers in a case now in federal court for a rights violation over their role in transporting a woman to a hospital after a relative reported concern about her mental health. The case is pending.

I wouldn't put much stock in the fact that he has 3 complaints until we know what they are about. In a 22 month period that's actually a little low.

I used to get about 2-3 a month, usually because I would be the supervisor called because a complainant didn't like a decision one of my officers made, or they wanted to argue a ticket on the street, or something equally goofy. Then a couple days later <poof>IA receives a complaint on me.

They all get recorded and investigated. I had one complaint on me for somehow causing a man's brain to be scanned by government satellites (it wasn't spandos)

I just don't get Minnesota. You look at standardized test scores and such and it might be the State with the highest average IQ. Yet you keep seeing ridiculous stuff come from it. Stuff like electing a former professional wrestler as Governor and a Saturday Night Live comedian as Senator.

I'm not disputing that Hillary got the most votes. Majority is over 50%, over 50% didn't vote for Hillary and over 50% didn't vote for Trump. 51.5% didn't vote for Clinton, 53.4% didn't vote for Trump.

In an interview with investigators last week, one of the two Minneapolis police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk said he was startled by a "loud sound" near the squad car.

Immediately after that loud sound, Ruszczyk approached the driver's side window of the car and was fatally shot by Officer Mohamed Noor, according to investigators.
A recently revealed search warrant may explain the source of that startling sound: a slap.
A woman presumed to be Ruszczyk was killed after she slapped the back of the police car, according to a search warrant obtained from Hennepin County District Court by Minneapolis Public Radio and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Guy fired the shot from the passenger seat, so he reached his gun across his partner and fired out of the driver's side window. All because there was a noise at the back of the car and the woman then showed up at the driver's side window. Be curious what his partner has to say about all of this and how he reacted compared to the guy who fired.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot an unarmed Australian woman last summer, an incident that led to protests and the ouster of the city’s police chief, was jailed Tuesday on charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

The shooting of the woman, Justine Damond, by Officer Mohamed Noor on July 15 renewed questions about police conduct and training in a region that has seen a series of police shootings in recent years.

“Officer Noor did not act reasonably,” Mike Freeman, the Hennepin County attorney, said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon, adding that the officer “abused his authority to use deadly force.”
