2018 Midterms

Post by BDKJMU »

Already a thread on the 2020 elections but not one yet on 2018 :?

"Shock Poll Shows Kid Rock WIth A Huge Lead In The Michigan GOP Senate Primary

........The poll released by Trafalgar Group shows that indeed it will be “game on” if Ritchie runs. The musician leads among potential Republican candidates with 49.62 percent. In second is “undecided” with 28.10 percent.

In a general election match-up, Democratic incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow leads with 43.37 percent and Ritchie is at 41.17 percent. However, when including voters who are leaning towards either candidate, Ritchie leads with 48.6 percent and Stabenow is at 46.09 percent.

The poll was conducted between July 25 and July 27. There were 1078 respondents and it has a margin of error of 3.06 percent."

Think that could be one seat conks could possibly pick up in a traditionally blue collar, blue state that Trump won..After all if Al Franken can win in MN, Kid Rock could certainly win in MI..

He might be able to. The Dems are strategically a dumpster fire right now, disjointed and with few leaders.

Btw, i wanted to compare Fraken's background and education to Kid Rock so I checked Ritchie's entry out on the wiki. This was in the general description at the top:

"He is a very attractive gentleman and fan of edible milk."

Who knew?

Since you mentioned Trafalgar Group I'll take this opportunity to note that the Trafalgar Group was the entity that conducted the latest polls in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida prior to the 2016 Presidential election. The point estimates for those latest polls in those states are Trump by 2 in Michigan, Trump by 1 in Pennsylvania, and Trump by 4 in Florida.

We'll see what happens but I think Kid Rock might have an issue in Michigan due to his history with the Confederate flag. It doesn't bother me. But it's the kind of thing I think an opponent can exploit.

I'd be shocked it it's not an issue if he runs.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
