Merriam-Webster - the generation of Americans born in the 1960s and 1970s

dictionary.com - the generation born between about 1966 and 1980, especially in the U.S.

Wikipedia - There are no precise dates for when Generation X starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years ranging from the early-to-mid 1960s and ending birth years ranging from the late 1970s to early 1980s.

Pew Research - 1965-1980

So, I'll repeat exactly what I said in my first post in this thread, "A quick look at the googles shows me that there are many differing year ranges. Doesn't matter what the year range is though."

That's the part you are missing. It matters the duration. Technology and attitudes are changing so quickly, the duration of "generations" is getting more narrow.

I'm not good at math. I was born in 1971 and part of the greatest hisg school class in history. What does that make me?

One of the best 30 for 30's I've seen in a while.

That part of Baltimore is still just like it was after the 67-68 riots. When I worked downtown, I got my gas right on the border of it. Never at night.

Which has always made me embarrassed

Justifiably. :coffee:

But I think you're on the right track. The best test, imo, is your musical preference and the version of trivial pursuit you do best with.

Kids born right after the war, up to say '48, generally were more influenced by Elvis than Bob Dylan, excel at the Boomer version of tp, and preferred Codeine to LSD.

You can catch Cap'n doing his shtick on FB in dback's posts. Not nearly effective or funny though.

I've probably listened to DD and used the term "rad" within the last week. The wife just bought a pair of Rayban Wayfarers and my golf shorts look like clam diggers (all true).

Gonna go make a mix tape now...

I liked to wear Jams. And had a fresh pair of checkered Vans. But I would never wear them together.
