What Trump is doing...and more importantly what people on the side perceived as "conservative" did by putting Trump where he is...is destroying the credibility of the Republican Party and the Conservative movement.

The Republican Party and the Conservative movement would both have been better off in the long run if Trump had lost the general election. Of course they'd have both REALLY been better off if Trump hadn't gotten the Republican Party nomination because we would almost certainly still have a Republican President right now without the horror of someone who is continuously destroying the Party's credibility.

Would there be a country left if the Hildebeast ran it for 8 years? I wanted Ted Cruz for the nomination.

Agree with both of you. The VW engineer gets convicted but not one single Wall Street exec. :ohno:

I'd really like to care but it's becoming more and more difficult at this point.
I think it was on NPR, but there was an interview with a guy that wrote a book on why Wall Street exec's weren't prosecuted. Essentially, the Justice Department went after everyone in the wake of Enron and WorldCom and it ruined the lives of 1000's of employees. They went too far and prosecuted the executives. So now, the JD feels that going after the execs would have an effect worse than their alleged crimes.

Exactly. The execs didn't ruin lives, the Government did for enforcing the laws and over-regulating...

I just read the old man's pardon over contempt for ignoring a fed judge was a misdemeanor where he was facing a maximum 6 month sentence. For some reason I was assuming this was a felony and he was facing several years. Figured it has to be with the giant brouhaha the left has raised over the pardon.

So the left has gotten completely bent out of shape over a pardon for an 85 year old man of a misdemeanor offense. BFD. Damn, look at all the felons Obama pardoned..Complete hypocrisy on the left..

Remember about knowing where most people will stand on many issues based on where they stand on one?

I'll bet the lions share of people bent out of shape over Arpaio would also argue that Mumia should be freed

Yes, there would be a country left if Hillary had won this time. And for the long term, given that the Republican Primary Electorate went brain dead this time and picked an atrocity like Trump, the country would have been better off if Hillary had won the general election.
