You didn't talk well of the Nationals and they still ended up crashing out of the playoffs without a playoff series win, as they always do. I don't believe in jinxes. Wentz stays healthy the Eagles will be good, Wentz doesn't stay healthy and they're screwed. Just like any other NFL team with a top level QB.

I bet on football and have for over a decade
and am yet to see a jinx of any kind ever happen

I will admit a few things:

1) the NFL she is a fickle mistress
2) When in doubt with evenly matched teams pick the team with the better QB
3) back to back out of conference road games yield predictable results
4) The team with the better defense wins when they are a better team
5) The team with the better QB wins sometimes when they are a worse team

Figure if we can go no worse than 5-3 the rest of the way then we wrap up not only the NFC East but have a real good shot at the overall top seed in the NFC. 6-2 would almost lock up the NFC. Still have that tough @ Seattle and @ LA Rams back to back 2 weeks (Eagles are staying in CA after the Seattle game), and still have both games against the Cowboys plus a trip to NY to play the Giants (I think the Giants suck, but a road divisional game is still a road divisional game). Gotta beat the Broncos at home this week, gotta beat the Bears at home at the end of November (I'm going to that one so they really have to win), and they have to beat a limping Raiders team at home on Christmas night. Split the series with the Cowboys and we're there.
With Aaron Rogers on the sofa... It'll just be Seattle standing in the way come playoff time
Minnesota / New Orleans / Dallas are deeply flawed teams

I would take all three of those teams over Seattle if they played tomorrow. :coffee:

Last Super Bowl for me as an Eagles fan... never.
Last Stanley Cup for me as a Flyers and/or Caps fan... 1975
Last World Series as a former Phillies now Nats (since 2005) fan... 1980
Last NB... nah, who cares about the NBA?

See, you might be the jinx. The rest of us really enjoyed the Phillies in 2008. Just saying. :coffee:

We'll see about that...

:geek:

The Saints are not deep in their lineup anywhere...
So they are an injury away from being back to mediocre

The Vikings have depth everywhere (which is nice) except at QB (which is death)

and Dallas will find a way... to lose
Probably because Zeke will be suspended right about that time

Because they have a two scheme offense
That basically consists of three running plays and three passing plays
and a defense when it's without their middle linebacker and play caller (Lee) is below average

9-7

My personal teams have done fine, since 1967, when I started watching professional sports, MLB Detroit, NBA Lakers, NHL Black Hawks (took a while), NFL Packers. Minnesota fans have 1987 and 91 World Series and that's it for the 4 major sports since 1967. Minneapolis will be the new Frisco for Wentz this season.

Eagles trade for Jay Ajayi - gave up one of their three 4th rounders.

If Ajayi can block on pass protection I like it. He runs hard and complements Blount nicely.

Someone had on Twitter that the 4th round pick the Eagles gave up here was obtained in the Sam Bradford trade. So essentially, we traded Sam Bradford for 1st round pick Derrick Barnett and now Jay Ajayi. That's highway robbery right there.

The other thing to keep in mind too is that this takes Ajayi off the board as a possible fill in for Elliott while he sits out for six games, if that was ever a possibility.

Ajayi needs a few weeks off...
He's been looking slow to the edge and timid up the middle these past few weeks
Something isn't right - rest him up for the stretch run - he needs a few weeks of down time

He'll be ready to roll for when the Eagles play in Dallas Sunday night 11/19, that's 3 weeks rest. Either way the Eagles can roll with a Jay or with a Blount....
