Hornets beat UC Santa Cruz big in an exhibition. SD has all the gory details....

Nope, didn't go. Graves is out for the season due to back surgery so the Hornets will be a bottom 4 team this year. Too bad, best schedule we have ever had. :ohno:

The Lady Griz only beat Carroll College by 7 in an exhibition last week, but that doesn't look so bad after Carroll upset Boise State in an exhibition Sunday.

So, by the Transitive Property:

Lady Griz > Lady Saints > Lady Broncos

Whodathunk a FBS school would lose to a NAIA school...in ANY sport?!? They must be taking some heat on campus in Boise....

I'm with you on this one, Weber State has a huge matchup with Utah State at home on Friday and for some reason I'm having a hard time getting excited for it. Weber State football is at the forefront of my mind right now. And for the first time in like EVER, Weber State basketball is stowed away in the back of my mind.

You know more than most, certainly more than I, about sports and whatnot...

What happened to BSU losing to Carroll College? Was there a suicide councilor on staff for when a small NAIA school beats the reigning whatever D1 school champ?

Hope I got that correct.

I didn't watch Boise's game obviously, but the Lady Griz had some trouble with Carroll (a lot more than they did with Black Hills State). Still, the preseason MWC favorite shouldn't lose to any NAIA. Good thing for the Broncos it didn't count. :?

Oh, and NoCo leads Depaul by 5 with about 2:00 left.

just realized it was the women you were talking about. Not as shocking unless NoCo is predicted to be last in the BfSC.

Knocking off a top-25 team isn't shocking? :?

Why watch women's basketball? Doesn't UCONN win every year undefeated for 500 games running? Why do they even play?

The Griz game tonight was really sloppy. First half shooting was terrible and second half fouls were everywhere. Managed the win but it should have been by more.

Saw most of it. Hornets looked a lot better than I anticipated against a team that they didn't match-up with very well (size). Trailed by 2 at half, had a small and brief lead in the early 2nd and was a missed wide open 3 from cutting it to 4 points with 3 and a half to go.

I like the 3g-2f look with String and Patton down low. The new JC transfers look like they will provide some perimeter shooting that this team has lacked since Garrity and McKinney left. Hornets lack depth though, so unless some players step up, it's going to be pretty tough against the better teams on the schedule. I'm thinking the Hornets have a shot to finish in the middle of the pack and not in the bottom 4...we'll see how it plays out. :|

SUU 69-90 BSU; Thunderbird freshman Jamal Aytes contributes 27 points off the bench
UND 78-81 HAW*; NoDak trimmed a 22-point deficit down to 1 late, but couldn't make a last-second trey

    * - Rainbow Classic

    Women

PSU 55-67 NEV; Nevada gets more than twice as many FT attempts despite committing only 3 fewer fouls
ISU 79-59 UW; Brooke Blair scores 30 in just her second game back from last year's ACL injury
RICE 88-83 NAU; Kenna McDavis puts up 27 points, 8 boards, and 6 blocks for the 'Jacks
