Big MSU Departure
Highly touted Bobcat freshman Isaac Bonton has apparently quit the team. He was fourth on the team in scoring at 7.8 ppg. From this and from reading comments on bobcatnation this season, I have a feeling the Brian Fish regime in Bozeman might be on the verge of collapsing.

WTF is going on over there? Seemed like MSU had a ton of promise. Something with Fish's mentality/way of doing things?Mvemjsunpx wrote:Highly touted Bobcat freshman Isaac Bonton has apparently quit the team. He was fourth on the team in scoring at 7.8 ppg. Re: 12/15 Scores
It sounds like he might be a jerk to his players. I don't know if it's headed toward a Robin Potera-Haskins/Sherri Murrell/Mike Adras type of ending, but it seems possible.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

(Robin Potera-Haskins was MSU's women's coach from 2001-04. Her team shared the regular-season title her first two years, but she was fired in 2004 after a bunch of her own recruits quit that offseason. She also had an extremely abrasive personality. She eventually sued MSU for sex discrimination, but lost. Sherri Murrell was the PSU women's coach from 2007-2015. Her Viks won the BSC tournament in 2010 and shared the regular-season title in 2011, but didn't even make the BSC tournament after that. She was fired in February, 2015, after a bunch of players apparently threatened to quit the team if she wasn't. Mike Adras was NAU's men's coach from 1999-2011. He abruptly resigned in December, 2011. It was later revealed that somebody blew the whistle on his blatant NCAA-violating practice habits that seemed mostly designed to terrorize his team into obedience or whatever.)

Re: 12/16 Scores
Linfield said they were going to treat the PSU game as an exhibition so it wasn't surprising they played that many players. Probably the best performance in this year's non-conference slate across the board was UND's performance in Spokane. Too bad they couldn't close the deal. It would have been a huge win for the Hawks, as well as for the conference. Some good, gutsy performances so far this season.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

Most teams don't even have 18 players, though. I guess this could be common in DIII, I don't know.JALMOND wrote:Linfield said they were going to treat the PSU game as an exhibition so it wasn't surprising they played that many players.

Mississippi cut it to 8 a couple times, but could get no closer. PSU wins by 15, probably the second biggest win for the women's Big Sky this season (NoCo over DePaul being #1).Mvemjsunpx wrote:UPSET ALERT (WBB): Portland State leads Mississippi 46-28 at the half in Portland. Yep. Realtime currently has the men's rank at 18th. and the women's rank at 17th. That's about on par for the women this decade, but I believe it's the best for the men since '09-10 (the year of the Anthony Johnson miracle).Wildcat Ryan wrote:Big Sky as a whole has looked much better this year. That Montana game was tough to watch. Some really questionable calls.
