The team that survives the NFC post season will likely be limping into the Super Bowl

I'd love to see the Eagles make it to the Superbowl
I would also like to see the Jags do well too since they've sucked like the Eagles for so long
Basically anybody that's stunk for a decade I'm all for winning now

Like '89 said, locking up the top spot is all but done - magic number is one for that - so one Eagle win (and at home on Christmas night against the not-going-to-the-playoffs-and-had-to-fly-in-from-the-West-coast Raiders looks like it will happen this week) or one Vikings loss (and they play Saturday at Green Bay who could pay them back for the Rodgers injury that killed their season) and the Eagles have the top spot. I'm not worried about having the #1 seed.Chizzang wrote:Um... You girls might want to check your girdlesGannonFan wrote:

And then, come the playoffs, the Eagles luckily avoid Minnesota or the Rams in the first round - probably. I think the Vikes will be the second seed and the Rams the third seed, and I don't see the Rams losing in the Wild Card round at home. That means the Eagles get the Saints, Panthers, or Falcons (suppose it's possible for the Lions or Seahawks) but I like their chances at home, with Foles, against any of those NFC South teams.
Granted, the NFC championship game will be difficult, but then again, every championship game is difficult.

The Hubris and arrogance is astounding ^ in that post
Firstly:
Winning NFL football games is hard
Which is why way more NFL teams are closer to .500 than .800
The entire league is designed around creating mediocrity (balance)
Yes, it is more likely than not that the Eagle will beat the Raiders
but that also might be a really difficult game
Considering the Eagles (by the skin on their balls) escaped a 2 win Giants team
This whole "in the bag" sh!t that you guys are tossing around
like the Eagles were regularly the reigning champions - is alarmingly short sighted considering their history
and the overall difficulty of the NFL in general
Winning in the NFL is NOT easy

Let the Eagles hate flow through the two previous posters.
I’m always amused that outsiders get so worked up over a team that’s never won a Super Bowl. That’s how you know your team and fan base are the master trolls. People hate you for no reason. Hell, our MVP-caliber QB (as well as Jason Peters, Darren Sproles, and Jordan Hicks) have all been lost for the season and we keep on winning. People should give a young team and second year coach some credit for persevering, but nope. Haters gonna hate.
It makes the winning that much more enjoyable though, so don’t quit.

Hate..?
The only thing that makes people hate the Eagles would be the Eagles existing fan based
Not the team itself - which is by the way - quite enjoyable
Any true fan of NFL Football loves Jim Schwartz - the guy is a master defensive coordinator
Any true fan of NFL Football loves to see What Doug and Carson are doing
as well as Sean McVay and Jared Goff and now Jimmy Geropollo and Kyle Shanahan
The NFL has some exciting Coach/QB magic happening and the Eagles are at the front of it all..!!!
So... The only "hate" flowing is from the Eagles fan base
Which apparently instead of modestly enjoying this run has gone full retard
and basically announced it as a cake walk to the Super Bowl
I'm just going to enjoy the pageantry that is NFL Football

Well, I’d say it’s obvious you don’t read any Philly (or national) sports journalism or stream WIP or follow any Philadelphia social media. It’s closer to a bridge jump than a cakewalk around these parts. Must be nice being insulated from the Philly suicide hotline out there on the west coast.
Even SI moved the Eagles from #1 to #7 in their power rankings when Wentz went down. Hating on Philadelphia is a sport in itself.
Eagles don’t stand a chance I tell ya. Lucky if they win a divisional rounder.

I only dislike the Eagles as they are division rivals. I was just more commenting on how GF is so entirely certain that the one seed is already locked up.93henfan wrote:Let the Eagles hate flow through the two previous posters.

I’d say the 1 seed is more certain than a playoff win. The defense was turrible last Sunday. But we should still beat Oakland.

Yup, what happens in the playoffs is far less certain than the #1 seed, which is pretty much wrapped up. We get to open the present Christmas night when the Eagles beat the Raiders. That's the thing that's almost certain at this point.93henfan wrote:I’d say the 1 seed is more certain than a playoff win. The defense was turrible last Sunday. But we should still beat Oakland.
As for the playoffs, if the Eagles avoid the Rams and Vikings in the first divisional round after the bye, then that's the best case scenario. Still would mean the Eagles would have to beat a (likely) NFC South team (whichever one survives) but I like the Eagles chances against that at home. The Rams and the Vikes are the teams that scare me the most in the NFC, even with the game being in Philly (since the #1 seed is pretty much wrapped up).
