Every Panthers game I happened to catch come of this season had a LOT of blue seats. Might be the whole tickets sold vs actual butts in seats thing.Ibanez wrote:AVG attendance each year(since 2011) has been between 72k-75k. The stadiums capacity in that time has been 73-75k. Shula and Dorsey are NOT the problem with the Panthers...Ibanez wrote:http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2201 ... r-qb-coach
Rivera fired offensive coordinator Mike Shula and quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey yesterday.
In other news - there's growing talk of building a new stadium for the Panthers. One of the most likely sites (if it were to occur) is 6 miles from house near the SC/NC border.

I looked at actual attendance. Probably actual butts in the seats vs who is indoors.Grizalltheway wrote:Every Panthers game I happened to catch come of this season had a LOT of blue seats. While that looks amazing, I find it awfully silly for people to go there, inside the stadium, to watch the game.Ibanez wrote:I looked at actual attendance. One of my few curmudgeony traits that I've developed recently is that I am 100% happy never going to another NFL game in person again (especially any home Redskins games). They are generally just awful and expensive experiences. I'd rather just watch a game at home, or at a local bar where my entire tab will probably still cost less than a single ticket to a game.

And upon closer look at that picture, it doesn't really look that amazing after all. It looks more like an airport lobby converted into a drinking area.Ibanez wrote:I don't disagree with you.bandl wrote: While that looks amazing, I find it awfully silly for people to go there, inside the stadium, to watch the game.

If the Saints, Steelers, and Cheatriots lose this weekend it would guarantee that a team with no SuperbOwl victories would win it all.

Eagles have NFL championships (three of them) prior to the SuperBowl era, so there's that. The Vikes technically have an NFL championship, but it came in 1969 and they went on to lose the SuperBowl in the last year before the merger.Vidav wrote:If the Saints, Steelers, and Cheatriots lose this weekend it would guarantee that a team with no SuperbOwl victories would win it all.

Vidav even specified "Superbowl" and you guys are still triggered.
Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
Not only are we triggered, but when the Eagles do win a Super Bowl, we will begin only counting Super Bowls won in this millennium as relevant.Grizalltheway wrote:Vidav even specified "Superbowl" and you guys are still triggered.

Also, Excluding anything pre-2007 Spygate*
I heard a brilliant (and hilarious) debate where a guy explained how the Patriots have ONE Superbowl win
He closed with "It's poorly documented but the Germans also won WWII"

Savage took a hit that caused him to convulse on the field, with the ref standing over him, a few weeks back and got back into the game.
Wilson never should have been allowed to finish the game against the Cards - the SeaScum got fined for that, but the NFL needs to start taking away draft picks.
