She’s someone he trusts. Someone that’s been there from the beginning.

26, zero political experience...all signs point to yes. And it was the best (THE BEST) she ever had.

Will be interesting to see where it will be. Is Trump going there? Kim Jong-un venturing out of North Korea?

and I expect that Democrats who defended Obama will find all kinds of things wrong with it

up is down

down is up

It's the hands down number one best thing about Trump... this era is going to provide us with a veritable library of "the 1980s called" moments to savor

I'm sure the Secret Service really appreciates this decision by Trump.

I think it's a good meeting to have...a necessary evil perhaps. I have no faith Trump won't fuck it up.

If Trump gets NK to agree to disarmament with reasonable terms I'll laugh so hard.

Well they have agreed to it before

North Korea has been owning our Presidents for many years

The bottom line is that there are some countries you just have to either (a) hold your nose and accommodate them for shirt term political expediency, or (b) destroy them

there really are no other options and only one of them is viable

This would normally be a massive diplomatic coup for the U.S. and a huge sigh of relief if they've convinced NK to commit to disarmament...were it any President other than Trump.

They're really going to have to lock his phone away and make sure he stays on script 24/7.

That said, apparently he decided to do this on the spot and caught everyone off-guard. It'd be nice to have a President consider whether NK is actually sincere, is trying to snag a PR coup, or is simply hoping to play Trump like a fiddle. But no, he plunges straight into what could be a trap.

I do genuinely hope good comes of this though. Let it be the one thing Trump does everyone agrees on.

Give us a break, son. No Trump victory will ever be declared as such by our liberal media.

There's no victory yet. I seriously doubt it's successful, but if they agree to shut it down to similar terms to Iran's - it would be a victory.

The thing that pisses me off is that this has been NK wet dream for 30 years. And, we're going to give it to them for nothing in return? There are still US citizens being held in NK, at least agree to the terms after their freed. At the very least. Get something out of it before committing.

Oh nice. I didn't know you were on the line and know all the terms that have been worked out so far.

Why do you think there was a phone call?

If we got anything out of it - it seems like they would have announced them. And, I don't think there was any negotiation on terms with NK before Trump decided. SK delivered a letter from Kim and Trump agreed to it.

Maybe there will be terms bargained now - but, it's kinda hard after you've already announced you've agreed.

I don't think you see the difference between negotiations between advisors and a summit.

Obama didn't meet with the fucking Ayatollah.

The Kims haven't been dreaming of negotiating with Murican advisors. They've been dreaming of a photo op with a Murican president. It elevates their status.

That relates to my recollection. I was wondering. My recollection was that kind of the standard thing historically is that we would not meet directly with the North Koreans. I have this recollection of them wanting to meet with us directly but us saying that if we met with them directly that would give them a credibility we didn't want to give them.

Then now all of a sudden us agreeing to meet with them directly is a wonderful thing.

I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing but it does seem to be a change in attitude.

Yes please continue splitting hairs
there

all kinds of caveats

And I certainly do know the difference-

At a summit the vile dictator get street cred by taking his picture with you

With negotiations between advisors the vile dictator gets an airplane full of cash on the tarmac
