By my count there are 11 I-AA schools in the field of 64 (one lost in the play-in).

There are 16 I-AAA schools (one lost in the play-in).

Not sure if that means anything, but is it easier for a school to just focus on basketball if they don't have football?

There are 93 I-AAA schools compared to 124 I-AA. I think that's significant.

Since the Big 12 was created in 1996-97, no league among the six major conferences (Power 5 and the Big East) had failed to send a team to the second round until Thursday when the Pac-12 became the first, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

Per U.S. Department of Education data, Arizona spends $3.1 million per year on men's basketball. Buffalo spends $500,000. Sean Miller's compensation is $4 million per year and Buffalo coach Nate Oats makes $600,000 annually.

#16 Baltimore County absolutely DESTROYS #1 UVGay 74-54.

I don't watch college basketball much. How in the hell was UVA a #1 & Baltimore Co only a #16? I watched the 2nd half. and Baltimore Co was so much better than UVA. It wasn't even close.

This is one of UVA's best offensive teams ever, while remaining the best defensive team in the nation. Per kenpom, UVA is 39th in offensive efficiency (and 1st in defensive efficiency). That's historically a nice place to be to be a contender to make the Final Four. I wouldn't want to play UVA in the tournament, and they're probably the only team I'd say that about.

I watched Bennett's teams when he was at WAZZU and they couldn't seem to get over the offensive hurdle but the job he did in Pullman with was impressive with back to back 26 win seasons, a 3 seed, and trip to the Sweet 16.

This year's team does appear to have enough offense to contend for a title. I think they're a good bet for the at least the final four.

Okay, I didn't think they would make the Final Four. But sheesh........
