I’ve been out all weekend. Was in Mardela Springs getting my youngest started on handguns and we did some precision rifle as well. See weekend thread.

Trying to help here... never call a putt a "shot". Also, don't ever refer to a shot as a "hit". I hear people not familiar with golf use that one all the time.

Allowable vernacular:

Nice drive (when from the tee, but only when using an actual driver)
Nice tee ball (when using something other than a driver from the tee)
Nice ball (allowable anywhere on a full shot)
Nice shot (when not a putt, but not used on a tee shot with a driver)
Nice chip/pitch (short shot around green)
Nice putt (when a putt)

If that don't get me some more curmudgeon votes, I don't know what will.

Never use the word “excellent” in golf. Acceptable terms are dandy, marvelous, sterling, or jolly-good.
