Re: The Official "Making America Great Again" Thread
I don't understand the fascination if Trump did (of course he did) have an affair with Stormy or not. If you don't like Trump, you didn't need an affair with a porn star to get you to that point, you already didn't like him. And if you did like Trump, his long litany of sexual daliances has been well documented over the years, so you already were fine with his marital infidelities and you still liked him. Republicans that say they're fine with this are probably hypocrites as they were likely against it when Clinton violated his marriage and Democrats who are against this are probably hypocrites as they were all for disregarding infidelity when it came to Clinton. In the end, Trump is no different if he did or didn't have an affair with Stormy. Move on.

Of my many concerns with President Trump, the alleged affair is at the bottom of the barrel.

Out of all the allegations about Trump this is the one I understand the least
after the whole "small hands" thing during the primaries, you'd think Trump would wear it like a badge
plus, I'm pretty sure the people hyperventilating are the same ones who said the Bill Clinton thing was no big deal

I usually just laugh him off because he is a spoonfed lib parrotting Kos, Morning Joe, etc... He says, "How can Melania stay with him through this?" Of course my reply is, "Not sure, I guess the same way Hillary did with Bill." He pauses knowing he needs a new tactic. "Well, can you imagine if Obama did this, he'd be..." I interrupt, "What, all over the media? Being slammed on late night TV? Have everyone calling for his removal?..."
He finally comes back with, well the Dems did vote to impeach Clinton.

I don't watch either. Just see random clips that are occasionally posted places.
But, does Joe Scarborough advocate liberal policies now? Or is his "liberalism" just a conservative criticising Trump?

Re: The Official "Making America Great Again" Thread
One thing that I've seen both on TV and personally is the nonsense about how stuff like that is in his past and now he's a Christian. I had a conversation with my very Christian older brother about that. At some point I said, "You know, all that stuff with assaulting women in some cases and having sex with porn stars when his wife just had a baby happened in the past. But if those things happened now he's lying about it."GannonFan wrote:I don't understand the fascination if Trump did (of course he did) have an affair with Stormy or not. This thing of Christians rationalizing their support for an obvious moral atrocity like Trump is painful.

Re: The Official
I may have said something like this even before the Trump thing soured me on the Republican Party and the Conservative movement. Maddow is tough. She is sharp.89Hen wrote:I'm assuming. Morning Joe is worse than Madcow or Matthews, I've never actually read Kos. I can't imagine it being worse.kalm wrote:

Back before the Trump thing, years ago, I used to watch things like MSNBC and listen to that Air America radio when it was on just so I could hear arguments from the other side and think about counters to them. Maddow was by far the toughest. I think if someone actually got into a debate with her it would be very challenging. I think that in a debate she would destroy analogs on the right such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
Try it some time. I'll admit it can take some discipline to try to keep watching for other reasons. But when she makes her arguments think about how you would try to rebut them given the information she presented.
I actually never looked it up before but I was going to say she comes off as very high IQ. When I looked it up I found this:
http://www.msnbc.com/the-rachel-maddow- ... -biography
Right off the bat getting accepted to Stanford without being a minority member or a rich legacy means she's in the top fraction of 1% in intelligence. Then you go from there. She's not an easy opponent in terms of people you might want to debate about political issues.Maddow received a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Stanford University. She earned her doctorate in political science at Oxford University, which she attended on a Rhodes Scholarship.

This seems be more the kind of criticism I usually see from Joe Scarborough. Not more liberal than Daily Kos or Rachel Maddow, imo.

Still don't get it. Both Clinton and Trump are morally bankrupt, and were not worth a single vote. I didn't like Trump before he ran for office or before he had a TV show. The only Christian supporters of Trump, that I know personally, do it to get a rise out of Clinton supporters.JohnStOnge wrote:This thing of Christians rationalizing their support for an obvious moral atrocity like Trump is painful.
