I also didn't really pay attention to see if these were real cops or beach cops. HUGE difference. I got busted in college by Dewey Beach summer "cops" on the beach. We had a cooler full of beer but were careful to pour them into cups inside the cooler. At that time the summer cops could not ask you to open the cooler unless they saw alcohol. When you see them coming, you just pour your beer into the sand. Problem was we all passed out with half full cups. Woke up to them standing over us. One of them (Farva looking asshat) wanted to be a big prick but the others talked him off the ledge.

I never got the allure of the OBX. It was fine, but the drive from PA is brutal. And then there's not really a lot to do come night time there. The Jersey beaches are crowded, no one's going to pretend they're not, but it's a short drive and there are plenty of nice towns so you just have to pick the right one(s). I mean, if you're really a beach snob then places like the Caribbean and Hawaii are significantly better than either option.
There's nothing like the national seashore down between Nags Head and Hatteras or on Okracoke when you practically have the beach to yourself

I hope the drive from PA stays brutal

Plenty of spots in Hawaii where you have the same. Heck, I was in Prince Edward Island and the beach was mostly empty too. No worries, there's plenty of places like NC so I'm sure it will stay the way it is.

Of course it was, because you'll freeze your balls off if you get in the water. Even in the summer.

Nah, the kids loved it. You'd be surprised at the number of people in the water. I'm a wuss and there's no way I'd go in, but there are far hardier folks than I and the water was in much more use than you'd imagine.

We were on Kauai and we went out to Barking Sands Beach - just as picture perfect of a beach as you could want, absolutely gorgeous scenery. And we were the only two people on the beach, miles in any direction. Hated it. Felt creepy actually. Didn't end up staying long. It's good to be amongst people, you don't notice that until you're alone.

Yeah

All those greasers from NJ and polacks from PA have to do is buy a plane ticket to the Maldives or Hawaii

Plenty of secluded beaches for them to go to

I know a couple secluded beaches here in Thailand... just hop in your rowboat

I went swimming there in July '92. "The boys" took the express elevator upstairs. Besides, you just said that hardly anyone was in. You and Giuliani need to get your story straight.

Yeah wtf? No people is my dream. That's why I'm finding a mountain in West Virginia to buy when I retire. I'll screen my kids' messages too. If it's really important I'll get back to them.

Isn't Slower Delaware basically West Virginia anyway, maybe with a few more teeth?

Slower Delaware is more like Iowa with a beach on one side and 100,000 transplants from NJ and PA complaining about a lack of services and how taxes need to be raised.

Exactly. No people is awesome. Because of being around tons of people all the time, I‘ve loved it when I‘ve been out West amongst no people..

No such thing as too few people.

Was in Nassau, Bahamas up until Wednesday...took a day boat excursion over to a largely deserted island with my wife and kids and 5 other people. Just the 9 of us & 3-person boat crew on the island for the day. Snorkeling on the reef with the fish & sharks...volleyball, BBQ chicken & coldslaw & beans...All the free Bahama Mamas you could drink.

Fucking paradise.
