We are in rebuilding mode. Have younger talent that can play his positions. Good solid veteran for a team in contention.Col Hogan wrote:Does that mean the DBacks don't want him???dbackjon wrote:Tracy is definately available...

Diamondbacks decided last night a five game win streak streak was long enough.
Gave up a seven run lead, lost 14-7. Marlins scored 10 in the 8th.

Re: Official 2009 Arizona Diamondbacks Season Thread
Tony Clark Released
In another move made in part with an eye on 2010, the Diamondbacks on Sunday released veteran first baseman Tony Clark.
Clark, 37 and in his 15th season in the majors, was hitting just .182 with four home runs in 66 at-bats.
Presumably, the move was made with the intention of bringing first baseman Josh Whitesell back from Triple-A Reno and giving him a chance to play regularly.
First baseman Chad Tracy is in the final guaranteed year of his contract and the club likely wants to see how Whitesell does with consistent at-bats.
In parts of five seasons with the Diamondbacks, Clark hit .255 with 59 home runs in 831 at-bats, time mostly spent as the club’s primary pinch-hitter off the bench and as a leader in the clubhouse.
The Diamondbacks signed him to a one-year, $800,000 contract before this season.

Yusimero Petit is throwing a no hitter through 7 innings against the AAA Pittsburgh Pirates.

I think your DBacks are going to be fine at 1B. I suppose everyone is being moved around. I "heard they moved their 5th (7th?) round pick (Wheeler) up a league and you have Goldschmidt looming in the future; though he is in the rookie league at present.

Re: Official 2009 Arizona Diamondbacks Season Thread
Went to the game last night. Was able to heckle Manny.
Manny's lack of hustle allowed the Dbacks to score first run. Manny's lack of steroids now left him without the strength to hit a ball over the wall, falling just short.
Dbacks win with a line up of:
RF: Trent Oeltjen (8 games played, from Australia)
CF: Gerardo Parra (started year in AA)
LF: Ryan Roberts (first MLB season)
1B: Mark Reynolds
2B: Rusty Ryal (5 games played)
SS: Stephen Drew
3B: Augie Ojeda
C: Miguel Montero
None of the outfield was with the team when the season started.

Dbacks come from behind to beat the Dodgers 4-3 in 10 innings.
Scary moment in the 6th when Dodger pitcher Kuroda was hit in the head with a line drive. He was on the ground for 10 minutes before being carted off and taken to the Hospital.
Dbacks trailed 3-1 in the 9th, back to back Homers by Mark Reynolds and Miguel Montero tied it up.
Gerardo Parra hit game-winning single in the 10th.

I was at the game tonight, Jon. Let me tell you, that place was like a MORGUE when Kuroda got hit. I had some nasty flashbacks to when my son got beaned, too. I sure hope he's alright....was nice to see the DBacks man up and come back and win that game....very exciting....I LOVE watching these young guys play!dbackjon wrote:Dbacks come from behind to beat the Dodgers 4-3 in 10 innings.

You should have seen how long it took Manny to walk in from left field after Parra's walkoff single. The guy is a fucking joke.
