The ad was banned for the images at the start of the video, not her conservative message. Those images did violate Facebook's stricter TOS for ads, but I think the right decision was ultimately made.Baldy wrote:Well, of course. This is one of those assholes Trip was referring to, right Trip?

I wasn't talking about Facebook censoring her ad, I'm referring to you calling people like her assholes. You never answered the question, is she an asshole or not?
There is a reason Facebook is a dying, and Twitter isn't very far behind.

Republicans have never been kind to America's most vulnerable, but that was primarily motivated by greed. Now that they've incorporated pettiness and cruelty into their party doctrine and instituted them as principles of government, I find anyone who wants to join that train to be assholes.
So yes, she's an asshole.

Lincoln and TR were Republicans. So was Ike.∞∞∞ wrote:Republicans have never been kind to America's most vulnerable, but that was primarily motivated by greed. Besides, who gets to determine assholishness?
And what’s wrong with being an opinionated asshole in the first place? They tend to be some of the most interesting people in society.

*Modern Republicans. I know you're smart enough to understand that Lincoln and Roosevelt Republicans didn't remotely lead the same party as it exists today.kalm wrote:Lincoln and TR were Republicans. Society as a whole down to individual cliques - it's a sliding scale. We're all considered assholes by someone else, but it takes a very kind of special to be an asshole like Trump or an organization like the GOP.
If that's who you are, it is what it is. However everyone should attempt to better themselves instead of double-down on being a dick. I don't disagree that they can be interesting, but it has consequences.
Re: Alex Jones banned from Youtube, Podcasts, etc.
That doesn't really make much sense, so you're gonna have to provide some examples. Oh, and please don't leave out the most vulnerable in our society...the unborn.∞∞∞ wrote:Republicans have never been kind to America's most vulnerable, but that was primarily motivated by greed.
Again, you're not making much sense here, either. In what principles of government have they instituted pettiness and cruelty, and what are those principles? Now that they've incorporated pettiness and cruelty into their party doctrine and instituted them as principles of government...

I want the GOP to be thrown into the dustbin of history and be remembered as the garbage that it is. If they'd like to rejoin the world at some point and actually progress beyond the mid-20th century, that'd be a welcome change. But they neither help people nor even pretend to be fiscally conservative anymore.

It's not a credible observation of an entire party and roughly 45% of the American population
The fringe right and fringe left have ruined logical discourse
and poisoned the well that we all need to drink from
Actually I find I agree with the Right almost 50% of the time on significant issues
and only "strongly disagree" about 10% to 20% of the key issues
We're not that far apart - the Left and the Right

Re: Alex Jones banned from Youtube, Podcasts, etc.
Liberals always play nice and compromise with Republicans, and when the GOP gains power, they end up absolutely dismantling progressive policies. The ACA and the Garland pick are prime examples of Democrats (and President Obama) being the GOP's bitch. Republican supporters will oppose anything liberals do; they don't give a shit about compromise. So why should I?Chizzang wrote:This ^ isn't really very helpful∞∞∞ wrote: I want the GOP to be thrown into the dustbin of history and be remembered as the garbage that it is. I want Dems to be ruthless in their approach. I want them to expose the GOP in the worst light and when liberals are in power, push the nation so far left that it's near impossible to dismantle anything.
This #winning and #librultears and #MAGA garbage is hurting actual people; it's not funny. America is supposed to be a place of opportunity, human freedom, progress, and global leadership. And that's why crushing the GOP is important; they're the antithesis to everything America stands for.
Through their own hubris, the GOP in its current form have become the villains in this chapter of America's history. And like the rest of America's villains, it will not end well.
America might bend, but its values are stronger than anything thrown at it.

b) The current Republican approach has exposed liberals for what they really are. And, newsflash: it AIN'T pretty. America is waking up to the hypocrisy of the left and alt-left...they only want opportunity, human freedom, progress and leadership for individuals who look, think, and act EXACTLY like them. GOP ain't the villain...that role is firmly occupied by ANTIFA and their ilk. Even black America is waking up to the bullshit that's been spewed by the left for 60+ years...when THAT fully happens, it's sayonara, baby.

The DNC is flawed, I agree. It's a weak organization with internal corruption that needs reform, but I give it credit for acknowledging the problems. Younger, more progressive candidates are beginning to slowly shape the party. And they're also beginning to run candidates which better represent their districts and states.Ibanez wrote:∞∞∞ wrote:Republicans have never been kind to America's most vulnerable, but that was primarily motivated by greed. So yes, she's an asshole.OH for **** sake. They really have indoctrinated you well at those DNC meet ups. The Republican Party, for all its warts and flaws, is just as flawed as the Democratic Party. The Party of Inclusion ran old white people in the 2016 whereas the GOP, for the past few elections, have been running more women and minorities. Quit with the holier than thou schtick - the DNC is just as flawed and "evil" as the RNC.
But from everything I've experienced since I began voting, only one party has been genuinely anti-American:
Republicans.
