Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
Jets rookie Frankie Luvu fined $20,000 for hit on QB. That will take a big cut out his $4,000 salary.

probably 50% of the NFL wouldn't have that guy on their team (at all)
He's a neurotic mess crying on the sidelines throwing tantrums - he's a train wreck
add to that:
The guy had 15 drops in his last full season...

I think we're going to see a lot of Heinike this year from Carolina. The QBs need to develop and not leave everything up to Cam. I'm sure he'll beat out whoever that other guy was, Gilbert?
BTw, anyone see Carolina whoop New England on Saturday? It was a good game (and a great day, weather wise) but damn...Cam got hit and fell on the head at an awkward angle.

If Cam can ease up on the running and trust his teammates more, then we can see a lethal squad on the field. There were plenty of chances when he could've passed to McCaffrey and made a huge play.Chizzang wrote:Carolina looked very good !Ibanez wrote:I think we're going to see a lot of Heinike this year from Carolina. Cams problem is that he wants the win all to himself. He wants to make the big plays himself. You can't get those big plays alone as the QB. Throw a deep drive to your WR and be PART of the big play.

After watching the Broncos-Redskins either the Broncos are very good again or it is going to be a long year for the Redskins.93henfan wrote:Said every coach every year that Mike Vick played.Ibanez wrote: If Cam can ease up on the running and trust his teammates more...

Aaron Rodgers Highest Paid NFL Player
Rodgers signs largest contract in NFL history, for now. Becomes the 2nd NFL player with $100 million guaranteed. For comparison, the NBA has over 60 players with at least $100 million guaranteed.

Show Me the Money Link
The four-year extension is worth $134 million, according to Rapoport. Rodgers will get $80 million of that by March. The previous record for the largest deal in the league was the five-year, $150 million extension Matt Ryan signed with the Falcons earlier this offseason that made him the first quarterback to make $30 million per season. Rodgers will make $33.5 million per season with his new deal.
Under his current contract, Rodgers has a base salary of $19.8 million for this season and $20 million for 2019. Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports Rodgers will get $67 million before the end of 2018, and he will have around $103 million guaranteed. Ryan's deal has $100 million in guaranteed money.

What else could they do...
They're a sub .500 team without him
If the Packers built just a pretty good team behind Rogers they'd have been to 4 Super Bowls by now
It's alarming how over rated that front office is
The Raiders ownership saw the same thing happening...
If they put a team behind Carr they'd be in the Playoffs every year

Re: Aaron Rodgers Highest Paid NFL Player
I don't think many Packers fans liked Ted Thompson, and McCarthy hasn't been the best coach to many. Not sure where the over rated comes from. Thompson is gone, so hopefully the new regime can get some support built up around Rodgers.Chizzang wrote:Gil Dobie wrote:Rodgers signs largest contract in NFL history, for now. The Norris division just got a little better with Chicago trading for Mack.

Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
He's worth at least one first round pick - that's where you'd pick an elite DL anyway. The second pick could be overpaying, but you know he's not a bust so there's a plus there.dal4018 wrote:They gave up 2 First round picks!!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:The Norris division just got a little better with Chicago trading for Mack.

Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
Just a friendly reminder: If you were budgeting time to watch the Falcons and Eagles, don't. Steve Sarkisian is still the OC and Atlanta will lose. Philadelphia 30-14.
