Re: The Official "Making America Great Again" Thread
There was an interesting observation in this article - that with the few achievements Trump actually has, and with the current state of the economy, any normally behaving Republican President right now would be riding at least a 65% approval rating

All Trump had to do was not be a mega-twat, yet here we are. Kelly has failed at keeping him at the mini-twat level, and for that, I am disappointed in the old devildog. He really ought to take Donald aside just once and give him a solid kidney shot. For the good of the nation.CAA Flagship wrote:Style over substance. Re: The Official
One would think that many people have tried, both one-on-one and in a group. And that Jr, Ivanka, Jared, and Melania have tried as well. Still nothing. Oh well.93henfan wrote:All Trump had to do was not be a mega-twat, yet here we are. Kelly has failed at keeping him at the mini-twat level, and for that, I am disappointed in the old devildog. No big deal though. It doesn't matter to me whether people like him or not. That is for people like JSO to roll around in a puddle of piss over. The positive results of the moves made by his Administration is all I need. People want JOBS, and he is proving that there is still a way to make it happen, and it is happening.

That's a perception thing. I do think Trump is very good at bullshit and he's been selling the idea that things have changed significantly when they haven't. At the same time, you can see from the graph in the article that small business optimism can be high when the reality is that they shouldn't be optimistic.BDKJMU wrote:Small business optimism surges to highest level ever, topping previous record under Reagan

Record summer travel is no big deal. The population is constantly increasing. I can pretty much confidently predict to you right now that more people will travel during summer, 2028, than traveled this past summer.BDKJMU wrote:Airlines say booming US economy led to record summer travel

Remember when unemployment was low under Obama but the GOP dismissed it by saying large swaths of Americans dropped out of the workforce and most new jobs were low-paying?

I guess it's all sunshine and rainbows now.

Re: The Official "Making America Great Again" Thread
The GOP's new mantra isn't trickle-down economics anymore (or even salaries which keep up with inflation in a booming economy), it's now: "Well at least people have jobs."
Also are we just going to ignore that the deficit EXPLODED in less than a year? I mean I can ignore paying my mortgage and I'd be financially better off in the short-term too.
