Do Republican values create child molesters?

Post by D1B »

I think they do. Here's an excellent answser to this question:
Create? Probably not, but I would suspect that people who live secretive lives of denial -frequently with large amounts repression and in many cases self-loathing often feel drawn to an ideology or a religious form that incarnates the self-image of the stark opposite of what deep inside they know they are.

What could be more opposite to a child molester in many peoples minds than someone who pontificates the strictest of moral codes and represents to many people the epitome of being an morally solid and upstanding person? Perhaps not in our minds, but no doubt in many peoples minds.

Like the priest or the minister many people would view being a conservative-Republican as representing moral certainty with an inflexible and unchangeable moral code.

I would guess it is a mechanism whereby a person finds a way to live with themselves by having a public persona that is the opposite of their inner secretive self. I would say it is often a form of denial. And repression is all the more dangerous and all the more apt to reveal itself in inappropriate and destructive ways in the such a person who lives a lie every day of their life with reality smacking them in the face every day of their life.

thoughts????
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Hm....

I'm not a Conk or a Donk and I only have 18 years of Catholic experience with all of those years the experience being forced upon me. Furthermore, I am not a belligerent white supremacist. I'm just a plain ole, run of the mill, Sen. Byrd, white supremacist.
