Meh, Chizzy is just intolerant of religious folk. He dismisses anyone who has faith.

Not even remotely true...89Hen wrote:Meh, Chizzy is just intolerant of religious folk. He dismisses anyone who has faith.
Firstly: I'm absolutely fascinated by Religion
I just don't "revere" it as beyond debate
In the end all Religion is just a collection of ideas
If god gave us the ability to reason then why would we not apply it to everything to our best ability..?
In light of that point the Scientific Method is simply humanities greatest gift from god
because it removes bias conjecture and hyperbole and ultimately destroys myth

Religion has zero to do with the posted video. You simply don't like Shapiro so you are trying to negate his point about gender identity. What am I missing?Chizzang wrote:Not even remotely true...89Hen wrote:Meh, Chizzy is just intolerant of religious folk. He dismisses anyone who has faith.

I fucking LOVE Shapiro - are you kidding me
To review something and hold it to our highest standard of logic and reason
does not by default, on the discovery of a error, remove that thing (or person) from our favor
I can completely disagree with some of Shapiro's tactics and some of his obvious missteps
and enjoy his body of work - which by any standard is fantastic

I fucking LOVE Shapiro - are you kidding meEither I need some coffee or you're not being honest. You seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth Cleets.
Beating up college kids with logic regarding social justice is an easy game
and Shapiro does it to have cool stuff to post on his Daily Wire account
But he's done two things that disappoint me
He's completely backtracked on his Trump assessment
and he panders to the Religious Right because they pay him
I get it - a man has to make a living - but I'm not going to just skip over those points
beyond those two things - he's a rock star

Do you have an example? I know he prefers Trump over the left, but that's about as far as it goes from what I've seen of him.Chizzang wrote:He's completely backtracked on his Trump assessment

Re: Age Identity
Contrary to Chiz' claims, he hasn't completely backtracked. He was a Never Trumper in 2016, but has evolved in his assessment.89Hen wrote:Do you have an example? With that said, Shapiro will be the first one to call Trump out every time he says something stupid.Ben Shapiro wrote:Now, we have a track record. We know what [Trump] will do policy-wise, which is a lot better than anything I thought he would do. And then there's what he's done personally, as far as toxifying politics, and I think it's fair to say [what's happened is] pretty much what a lot of us expected to happen..He's governed basically as Mike Pence would. His actual governance has been very down-the-line conservative overall, although he is obviously a big spender...I have to measure the fact that a bunch of things that I thought were going to happen already have happened and are not going to be cured by avoiding voting for him, with the fact that his policies have been overall pretty good, and the fact that he's going to be running against, presumably, a radical Democrat...
I don't think sitting out the next election cycle actually changes things on the ground in a lot of the ways I was talking about before, and the fact that he's governed much more conservative than I thought he was actually going to, I'm much more apt to vote for President Trump in 2020 than I was in 2016...He's done a lot of really good things in terms of governance. His Middle Eastern policy I think has been quite great. His regulatory policy has been very good. The tax cuts are very good. The judges are spectacular. All these things are great. I was very skeptical that we were going to get virtually any of them when he was elected because he was so all over the place during the election cycle, but obviously he has governed fairly down-the-line on all of these major issues, and that changes the math.

Shapiro on Trump #NeverTrump
March 4, Shapiro “came out” as a #NeverTrump proponent on the Daily Wire:
"I will never vote for Donald Trump because I stand with certain principles. I stand with small government and free markets and religious freedom and personal responsibility. Donald Trump stands against all of these things. He stands for Planned Parenthood and trade restrictions and targeting of political enemies and an anti-morality foreign policy and government domination of religion and nastiness toward women and tacit appeals to racism and unbounded personal power. I stand with the Constitution of theUnited States, and its embedded protection of my God-given rights through governmental checks and balances. Donald Trump does not. I stand with conservatism. Donald Trump stands against it..."
I stand with #NeverTrump.

It's also tremendously convenient and contrived
but hey if it works for them and lets them change course with lower consequences - okee dokee

So a liberal evolves and a conservative changes course. Check.
And I agree with them that a NeverTrumper is a liberal at this point. He IS the POTUS.

That's all you buddy...89Hen wrote:So a liberal evolves and a conservative changes course. Check.
But when it comes to money and power (typically) you change course
Evolution doesn't happen "The day after the election" as they both admitted they did
BTW: Shapiro, regardless of his new found "respect" for Trump
He has many brilliant points and is an absolute shining light of reason and logic

Let's be real here Cleets. Evolution occurs only when it's beneficial to the politician.Chizzang wrote:That's all you buddy...89Hen wrote:So a liberal evolves and a conservative changes course. Check.
