It's short term, guys, and will be paid off as Clinton did Reagan's massive debt from the 1980's.

Ain't no one demanding shit. You guys are playing with words like motherfuckers, to fit your sick RushConk fantasies.

Either you're all scared little pussies or, secretly, you have a ton of faith in what the current administration is doing to repair the damage of nearly thirty years of Conk excess.

So, piss off.

I completely agree..
The only entity not presently experiencing a recession is the Federal Government..!!!!

Cut congressional salaries by 25%
Reduce support staff by 10%
Reduce the budget dramatically

I have ZERO faith in the current administration...and I have enough "stashed" assets that I'm not scared either, at least not for me...

I am scared for my country...my kids future...because of what this administration is doing...

Hey, Hoagie, let's agree on something right here - you're exaggerating like a fvcking punk, just as I am. The "lazy fat asses who don't want to work" is just a hair more stupid than my "sick RushConk fantasies" remark.

Things are gonna be just fine. The way some of you idiots talk, someone oughta be marching right into the White House and arresting Obama for treason! Fvck, take it easy.

Clinton had the entreme fortune to be pres during the internet boom and tax revenues increased dramatically during this time. He didnt cut spending, he was simply the reciepent of increased revenue streams and that was short lived.

Spending is simply out of control and govt. stimulus does not move the economy toward full employment. Stimulus packages simply do not work, if you need proof call Japan and ask them how their stimulus packages worked in the past. Cutting taxes is another way to increase demand and that is also not guaranteed to create full employment. It is the better option IMO, but not a guarantee. Also Biden has to be the dumbest guy on the planet. He said the stimulus package may not be working-- well no sh*t-- it takes over a year to realize the benefits (if any) of some sort of stimilus package.

I do agree with Capn regarding our military and space program. It is a collosal waste of money and defense contractor inefficiences are staggering. We need to protect ourselves, but we cant be the world's police force.

How about if we are looking to save money (healthcare costs), we bring back mandatory physical education and stop producing fat little bastards who are getting diabetes at the age of 12. How about this physical education includes some basic nutrition courses on how not to eat chips, pop and every other sort of processed zero benefit food.

Can you imagine the money we would save on healthcare if our kids got some modicum of education on how to take care of themselves.

I know this is a huge reach, but fvck, if we are looking for answers, lets not be so weak as to exclude the obvious.

Right down to the bone - skeleton crews...

Everybody is experiencing a RECESSION and so should the Government - the idea that we should use this recession as an opportunity to grow the Federal Government is a ridiculous notion... The Feds should be in a full on financial retreat in my opinion (Just like everybody else is forced to do)

Because the parents are fat diabetic parents who serve nothing but processed crap.

Health education should be just that, education. Where better to teach it than a learning environment.

At least in Montana, health and P.E. classes are still mandatory, and they still do a good job of giving kids guidelines on how to lead healthy lives. But, as the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. As a whole, we've become a nation of fat, lazy pieces of shit, and more rigorous P.E. classes isn't going to change that. It's gotta be a cultural shift kinda thing :twocents:

Re: Time To Face The Music: We Need To Raise Taxes

Post by catamount man »

After thinking and meditating the last couple of days, I have TOTALLY revamped my way of thinking so here now is where Catamount man stands.

- Universal health care is a viable and moral good and should be pursued AS LONG as there remains an option(a freedom, a choice by any other name)to either choose the public plan or maintain one's own private health care and this include abortion as well. Insurance companies have lived off the fat of the citizen for way too long.

- trickle down economics is a failure and tax cuts for the wealthiest 5% has done NOTHING to stiumulate this economy and the result is the crisis we are near almost a year into. That being said, I am still not sold on President Obama's stimulus act, although it is way too early to tell if it will succeed or not and it's only fair to allow him that time.

- I still foresee a split within the Democratic Party with one side being led by the Blue Dog coalition as a moderate/fiscal conservative group with the other group belonging to the far left. The GOP is dead in the water and as much as I hate to say this, no 3rd party is still strong enough to make a challenge for the white house in 2012 with Ron Paul being the one exception. 3rd party followers still support way too many agendas that most Americans will not even think about supporting.

- No one political party can claim to have the pulse of the American populace. Polls are skewed and major cable outlets, both "liberal" and "conservative" have only one agenda and that is too make money all while rattling our emotions. The day Americans turn these people off, although they are entertaining at times, and start to think for themselves and let it show in their voting process and more importantly in how they treat their fellow American, legal and illegal, will be the start of a much needed return to humility for our nation which will bring about the peaceful reclaiming of our nation from those who continually subvert us for their own selfish gains. Peace. :)

I know what we should do...get huge dump trucks to drive around wealthy limosine liberal neighborhoods so they can throw huge wads of cash into them as they drive by. NPO's raise money by begging for donations, so why can't the government do the same? After all, there are plenty of people who want us to pay more taxes, so find them and ask them for money.

Cappy is looking for taxes to be raised so if Palin becomes president, she'll have more money to fcuk up with. I mean, that's a big problem how I see giving more power and money to the politicians to control--one day, you're guys will lose and another Bush will come along.

I agree with the wasted DoD dollars because I see it every day. The root of the problem is the federal appropriations process. Agency budgets are set by how much they spent last fiscal year, SO, each agency spends every dime it gets, even if it means buying stuff it doesn't need at the end of the fiscal year. They need to change it so that agencies get a bonus for spending less.

Regarding helping people get off heroin, I have no sympathy. They chose to start. They can find their own way out. Why waste taxpayer money on them? Take them out back and shoot them. Far cheaper to the taxpayer than rehab.
