Dude - have you BEEN to NC?Grizalltheway wrote:Uhh, North Carolina WAS a Confederate state.
Sure, but that doesn't account for the rural parts of the state. That's like saying Montana is a liberal hotbed because Missoula is in it.CID1990 wrote:Dude - have you BEEN to NC?Grizalltheway wrote:Uhh, North Carolina WAS a Confederate state.
Pennsylvania has NOTHING like Asheville or the Research Triangle Park
Its basically the EC(b) Seattle

I can't understand why it would be a frightening change. Technology will advance. At some point internal combustion engine vehicles will be obsolete. It probably won't be during my lifetime. And I suspect that the technology will not advance to the point where I would buy an electric vehicle in my lifetime. But I don't get why anybody would object to having the technology continue to advance.Chizzang wrote:Come on John does this actually surprise you..?JohnStOnge wrote:
If that really happened that really IS being a bunch of dickheads. Absolutely no reason for that. Why should they care if somebody else wants to have an electric car?
Tesla represents more than just an electric car unfortunately
it represents a kind of change that frightens people - and frightened people act aggressive

Wilmington
Boone
Charlotte (ok... Charlotte is vanilla and it sucks)
Duck
Manteo
pretty much the entire Appalachian region
The entire state is a desirable place to live - whether you are blue or red
You're getting way off track here. I have no issues with North Carolina as state, but are you going to sit here and argue that it doesn't have its fair share of jacked up truck driving asswipes?CID1990 wrote:So you haven't been to NC.... notedGrizalltheway wrote: Sure, but that doesn't account for the rest of the state. You do realize that two of the listed locations are OBX, no?Chizzang wrote:Dude,CID1990 wrote:

I'm offended - you go to all that trouble to point out the liberal cesspools
but completely leave out the outer banks...
which would have then been an excellent segue into calling out the west coast assholes that visit
Hmmm... I see93henfan wrote:You do realize that two of the listed locations are OBX, no?Chizzang wrote:

One phenomenon about people who go to OBX (or Crossfit, or WawaChizzang wrote:Hmmm... I see93henfan wrote:

Never mind
My girlfriend and I spent a week in Corolla this past spring....93henfan wrote:One phenomenon about people who go to OBX (or Crossfit, or WawaChizzang wrote:

Never mind) is that they never pass on an opportunity to tell you they like OBX. They'll have the OBX oval on their rear window. They'll have the OBX oval on their front license plate. And in the case of my boss at Dover AFB in the early 200X's, she had this on the rear quarter window of her CRV:
That's how I knew Duck was Outer Banks.

Did I argue that NC doesn’t have truck driving asswipes?Grizalltheway wrote:You're getting way off track here. I have no issues with North Carolina as state, but are you going to sit here and argue that it doesn't have its fair share of jacked up truck driving asswipes?CID1990 wrote:

Well even NC has to put the garbage somewhere93henfan wrote:You conveniently skipped Durham.
That place is a festering shithole.
And let's not even broach Fayetteville or Jacksonville.
I am not playing dumb. I genuinely do not understand why anybody would want to inhibit someone else who chooses to drive an electric vehicle. I don't see a "what's in it for them" angle. I can't see someone who drives a internal combustion engine vehicle thinking they're not going to be able to get an internal combustion engine vehicle if they want one. And at some point alternatives that are clearly better in all regards than internal combustion vehicles will be developed. Why would anyone want to inhibit that process?Chizzang wrote: John,

No
I made two arguments:
1. There are plenty other states 93 could have mentioned before NC (like PA)
2. You haven’t been to NC
Btw, you ride a fucking Harley. You're just as obnoxious as any truck bro, if not more so.CID1990 wrote:Did I argue that NC doesn’t have truck driving asswipes?Grizalltheway wrote: You're getting way off track here. I'm from #2 but close enough to the VA line to add in a small mix of good ol down homey CalvinismPwns wrote:From my travels, North Carolina seems to have 4 biomes:
1. Blue Ridge Area (Boone, Asheville, etc.) Basically populated by liberals that love the lilly-white demographics and that the mountain setting makes them feel more rugged and connected with nature than they really are.
2. The Western Carolina Piedmont (these are the people with the confederate flags on their trucks)
3. The triangle and Raleigh-Durham (like #1, but wierder and more diverse).
4. Charlotte (politically liberal, but with an urban setting and more conventional)
Georgia on the other hand basically has Atlanta (like Charlotte) and everywhere else (like #2).
