Trump is like a cat with a ball of yarn...we need Mueller to indict Jr. so we can get his mind off this **** wall.
You ever considered he is proving a point? Both Dems and Reps want immigrants, but they haven't done anything of substance in how many years in regards to reform or protection? Why can't something happen?
Some Americans - like me - don't actually give a shit about the southern border to send a representative which advocates a wall across its entirety. Reforms here and there, sure...but I'd question that candidate's sanity if they supported a ridiculous 2000 mile wall.

Perhaps that's why there hasn't ever been movement; will of the people...or something. :coffee:

You don't hold 800K+ Americans and their families hostage to do immigration reform. Fuck you.

:coffee:
Then both sides need to give a little then. Like I said, they both want the same thing, except one side wants a better barrier.

Is it really a national emergency though? Is a shutdown necessary?

Most Americans don't even want this stupid wall. What they want are their National Parks, museums, mortgage and student loans, airport security, paychecks...

Cool. Didn't Trump also promise Mexico would pay for the wall? I hear he's a great negotiator...

...maybe he should do that instead of bitch all day.

Mexico is paying for it with the newly renegotiated USMCA.

Considering the wall's proposed cost, the USMCA doesn't even come close in closing any trade deficits (and if you didn't know, trade isn't a zero-sum game). And if it magically does, then Congress can allocate the extra money to whatever they want...

How does that feel? That feeling that something that's promised as supposedly "paid for" turns out not to be?

Because that's EXACTLY how anyone with a brainstem feels about AOC's ridiculous proposals of free government healthcare, free college, free this, free that ALL paid for by simply applying a 70% MARGINAL tax rate on multimillionaires...She's going to fund programs that cost in the hundreds of billions collectively by taxing people who don't make that much collectively even if you added all their salaries together.

First of all, individuals aren't the only ones which can be taxed higher.

Second, higher taxes for the rich is a moderate position. Same with higher taxes for companies.

A max wage and a wealth cap is what socialists want...

Well there you have it. Politifact and Fact Check have said there is no way the new USMCA is going to generate $25 billion in extra dollars for the United States.

Sounds like they talked to always wrong Paul Krugman. Lol

Nice try.

So what you're saying is that a President has the authority to allocate any money made from the trade deal towards the wall.

Pretty sure that's not how it works the last time I checked.

Mexico paying for the wall means Mexico paying for the wall.

Way to play obtuse. There will be no dollar transfer from fees collected, just the retention or collection of money that would not have made it into the economy.

Funding it indirectly.
