Gays and trans were never gonna n the military until Obama let them in, Trump is merely restoring order and correcting just one of Obama’s mistakes.

Jeff you are going to have health issues with all that hate in you, enjoy life a bit.

DAVOS, Switzerland (Reuters) - From centre-stage in Davos last year, President Donald Trump told the world’s corporate bosses that America is a great place to invest. It hasn’t quite turned out that way.

Foreign direct investment to the United States fell in 2018, and companies gathered at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss Alps this year say they are worried Trump’s trade war with China will dampen the global economy and business investments even further.

One key complaint here this week: Companies increasingly reliant on consumers in China have had to lower their earnings outlooks as the world’s second-largest economy cools.

And while the U.S. administration has cut taxes and regulations to attract new investment, a wave of caution is rippling through many industries in the United States.

“The trade war has been very damaging for the U.S. agricultural economy,” said David MacLennan, chief executive of U.S. food and agricultural giant Cargill Inc, which announced worse-than-expected results out of China earlier in January.

“The longer this goes on, the worse it is,” he told Reuters.

You don't see me agreeing with Trip that often but, if someone wants to fight then let them. I wish I was fit for duty when I tried to join in 2001.

Break it down and you all are worried about unit disruption. That's a valid concern.

Although, the same fear existed when blacks and women were allowed in. They did disrupt the unit. The unit got over it.

It's a short term political win to make your base feel good; it just hurts people in our time frame.

Long-term, this'll be another chapter in which future Americans roll their eyes at.
Most people would be uncomfortable being placed for long periods of time in very close proximity with a tranny in a high stress situation. This was a good decision. Social experiments can be done elsewhere, not when the job is to kill people and break things.

I'm not sure. I get you would be uncomfortable being around someone that is different than you. Just remember, you are judging them, not the other way around. They're probably more uncomfortable than you are b/c they don't know if you're cool with people being themselves or if you're some self-righteous bible thumper that has to give his opinion.

If you train and fight with a guy, you probably don't care if he sucks dick when you're in a life and death situation. You just want him to have your 6 when you're in a foxhole, under enemy fire. I would guess the sexual preference of a comrade is furthest from your mind when you're facing enemy fire and death.

And honestly, I still don't understand the conservative policy. I thought conservatives were limited government, keep to yourself kind of people. It seems they are just as eager as liberals to interject themselves into other peoples affairs. :twocents:

Transsexuality involves an element of gender dysphoria, which is a mental illness. Transsexuals have a significantly heightened rate of suicide, among other things. Recruits are evaluated mentally as well as physically prior to enlistment and I know that mental issues are the kiss of death ... you’re better off having a criminal record when trying to get into the military. I’m pretty sure that behind all the static over this, and statements about unit cohesion, morale, etc that this is really the simplest answer. Gays have been in the military since the beginning - I knew a number of them when I was in (in the 1980s).... and opposition to gays in the military has been more of a public/social issue external to the military itself. But homosexuality doesn’t carry mental health baggage that transsexuality does. I think there are objective reasons for the military to be apprehensive about trans soldiers but not gay soldiers. That’s my two cents

Absolutely, there are very few people in the US right now that have any balls. 98% have opinions on matter that differ from the statements they make publicly.

Specifically, lots of fucking idiot news media retards and politicians. They might be pro "this" but if it's not PC publicly they will tell you they are anti "this". I like to believe they do it so people like you don't cry too much instead of hitting you with the truth.

The only politician giving it to you the way it is is Trump. He is dealing with decades and decades of people like Schumer, McCain and Pelosi that have been in government for 30 years creating problems and now somebody finally is trying to clean up part of it in 2 years.

Fuck you and everyone else that doesn't like him, he's doing what we elected him to do.

Don’t tell me what I’m “worried about”. You weren’t fit in 2001? Why not? For one of the MANY reasons that individuals are determined to be not fit for duty....Transgenders need long and expensive hormone treatments and surgeries...there’s TONS of examples of people being not considered fit for duty who needed long and expensive medical treatments. It’s about DEPLOYABILITY. Period. End of story.

From a CNN article:
In Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery posts cost estimates for different procedures. Its price list mentions estimates of $140,450 to transition from male to female, and $124,400 to transition from female to male. This list, unlike many others, includes potential costs for things such as anesthesia, hospital stay and each of the potential surgeries that someone transitioning from one gender to the other may want or require. These numbers are based on one surgery center though, and will change depending on factors such as insurance, the hospital that is attended or if someone is using a different surgery center altogether.
And that’s just the surgery itself. What if someone is in the middle of their hormone treatment and they get orders to deploy? Do they stop and fuck up their “progress”? Do they go AWOL? Do they get determined as “nondeployable”? The military is fighting wars. They don’t need to be dealing with this kind of shit (just like they’ve chosen to “discriminate” against dozens and dozens of OTHER groups because of issues that make them unfit for duty). Foisting this on the military for the sake of political correctness is ridiculous.

I've stated it before - the USMC denied me 4 times due to my medical history. I was paralyzed for 6 months of my life.

I know a lot of guys in high school that went into the military that weren't mentally all there.
