The details remain unclear, but everybody Mueller goes after goes to prison. :coffee:
For process crimes. When is the last time a President went to prions for process crimes, or anything for that matter? There is a megathread on this nothingburger topic already, you should know better. :coffee:

Were we just letting them die before Obamacare?

If you truly believe the only solution is government provided/sponsored healthcare, you should just shuck that "conservative" label you've pinned on yourself now and save yourself the trouble later, JSO...
I'm just asking you what you'd do about a penniless person who, say for example, gets treatable cancer.

Your position is to refuse them service since it's not an emergency?

Just trying to find out where you stand.

Let 'em die? Tell 'em to try GoFundMe?
Won’t the government run system have a panel that determines if this person should receive cancer treatment? If they decided against treatment, wouldn’t that then become…wait for it…a death panel? 8-)

That said I think preventative care and catastrophic care should be covered in some fashion. The issue isn’t what we want, the issue is paying for it. When this goes full gubmint healthcare takeover (I think this happens in my lifetime), I want fat unhealthy people charged extra (a fast food tax would be nice) to cover the costs.

Also healthcare is about 19% of GDP. These healthcare companies aren’t going to sit idle while their gravy train is yanked away from them by the gubmint.

You asked about a penniless person and cancer obviously to make a point, but what about a person who earns so little as to not be able to afford health insurance and a non-life threatening issue?

89Jr was just in for an MRI on his shoulder. If we didn't have insurance, the cost of the MRI was something like $3500. Because we have insurance, the provider only got paid something closer to $500 by the insurance company. There are many, many people who could not afford the MRI. Should you just live in pain? Should you have any and all procedures taken care of? I know folks who use up every minute of sick leave they have and self-diagnose and are on 4-5 prescription drugs for questionable illnesses that a doctor agrees could be. The sheer amount of people who would abuse the system render it almost unattainable.
Maybe if we cut back on the decades of continuous war....? Hate to sound all parochial and shit, just trying to think outside the box...

Back on topic, seem like the leftists are losing their shit that the Starbucks guy is considering running as an Independent. I think they are worried that it will expose their "race to the left" to the moderates out there.

Oh and Kamalah walking back her Medicare for all statement about getting rid of the healthcare companies.

Lots of entertainment on the way in this leftist primary.

Watching leftists move further and further left to appease the commies and socialists in the party is going to be fucking comical.

Yup...and then watching whoever comes out "on top" trying to walk it all back to appeal to the average folk for the general against Trump will be even more fun to watch.

Well, for 42-44% of Americans it doesn’t matter if they’re left of Lenin, they’ll still vote for the person with the (D) behind their name. Just like the 39-42% who don’t care how far right the conservative candidate is...it’s why I haven’t voted for a mainstream candidate but a few times since 1980.

Can’t help it, CID. I’ve always been an early riser, and our cat jumps on my head promptly at 5:30 a.m. or earlier.

It’s news to me, whippersnapper.

Plus, I don’t cover California shenanigans on a regular basis.

What they've got going for them is that most people want Trump out. Like I said there is a strong "anybody but Trump" sentiment in the population.

Also, I think the general population might be farther to the left than some may think. The default majority position is support for "Medicare for all." You can ask questions in different ways to get different results but the big picture is the majority support it. A majority likes the idea of soaking the rich with taxes. I don't like it personally but a majority does. When it comes to the big issue behind the Judiciary battles an overwhelming majority does not want to see Roe vs. Wade overturned. A solid majority wants stricter gun control. So on and so forth.

And, yes, I did check polling results before I said those things but I decided to be merciful and not discuss them this time. The Republicans are swimming upstream when it comes to the big issues of the day. I'm not saying I THINK it should be that way. But it's that way.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

The Starbucks guy will siphon off more of Trump's swing voters than the Dem candidate. In fact, if he gets into the race I think that's the death knell for Trump.

The Dems have their panties in a wad because the guy will pull moderate votes away from their preferred intersectional candidate, but I think the Dem candidate wins in the general if there is in fact a three way race. It will be close, though.

All that said, these early runners remind me a lot of that gal who ran Hewlett Packard into the ground. She had lots of buzz right up until the first debate

How do you figure? He’s pro universal healthcare, pro open borders, pro citizenship for the 11mm+ illegals already here...in fact he’s further left than Hildabeast on many issue...not sure how he siphons off Trump voters.

He’s not Trump

He will be to the right of the Dem candidate

He is an actual self made businessman

He will siphon off the “change” voters, like the ones who voted for Obama and then Trump. That will sink him

So is Schultz going to be the Bloomberg Republican and be strong pro-business, pro Wall Street while being pro gun control, pro immigration, and pro abortion? That's about the worst thing you could possibly be in presidential politics right now. That'll sell about as well as Coexist bumper stickers in no-go areas of London.

You just described an establishment Democrat

Schultz walks like a duck and talks like a duck but he will pull independent voters because they will think he isnt a duck
