Missed the voting, but I decided to watch grass grow instead while having a beer. Didn't feel like ruining my record of never watching one. Now if Melania was giving it, I probably would of tuned in.

I spent one year as a SRO (one of the hardest years I had as a cop). This one time we had a kid who screwed up somehow and wound up in the principal's office.. I dont even remember what the kid did, but I got called to the office to hang around because everyone in the front office was afraid of the kid's mother... apparently when they told her she would have to come pick her kid up she got irate on the phone.
So, in comes this mother and we go into the office where her kid is sitting. She looks at the principal and asked,
"What he did?"
The principal told her he was disrespectful to a teacher or something. The woman, while calmly reaching into her purse, was quietly saying to her son, "Ima gonna make sho I don't have to come back up in here ever again over you stupid sh!t... and you have me up in here with the poe-leece too?! OH NO!"
And then she pulls a coiled extension cord out of her purse.. with the plugs exposed and draws back to start beating the kid with it... for a split second I thought about just stepping out of the office but then I didn't want to field questions about some kid coming bloody out of there so I grabbed her wrist and begged her to wait until she got home.

I'm guessing the cop that had the Daniel Island beat had the cushiest job.

I'm not sure if you were still in the area, but about 10 yrs ago, CE and Drayton Hall switched names for a couple of years only to switch back.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI believe it. I went to CE from August 1995-December 1995. That was a rough school. Even more so if you were a small, skinny white kid.

MIddleton HS was 3 miles from my house. It wasn't bad. It was in West Ashley, near Little Vatican (collection of Catholic neighborhoods) and Little Jerusalem (collection of Jewish neighborhoods).CAA Flagship wrote:What's the story with Middleton HS?Ibanez wrote:

Darius Rucker graduated from there (which is why you asked.
It stopped being Middleton when it merged with St. Andrews and became West Ashley HS in 2000. I had a few friends at both schools. Both were rivals. St. Andres had a great football team...and then it began to suck when it merged with Middleton.

Is the original school building still in use, and essentially just got a name change? Or are they using the St. Andrews school building, or something totally new?Ibanez wrote:MIddleton HS was 3 miles from my house. It wasn't bad. Originally, St. Andrews HS became the new HS while West Ashley HS was still being built. Middleton was used as a Middle School. Now it's West Ashley Advanced Studies Magnet SchoolCAA Flagship wrote:Is the original school building still in use, and essentially just got a name change? St. Andrews. That's the area where Little Flaggy played his baseball tourney in 2013.Ibanez wrote:Originally, St. Andrews HS became the new HS while West Ashley HS was still being built. What's interesting is that even though I was closer to Middleton than St. Andrews, some kids in my neighborhood went to St. Andrews. One of them even died there (heart attack at age 17).CAA Flagship wrote:St. Andrews. Re: 2019 SOTU: Who’s Watching? (Poll)
Ok so he made a bunch of false statements including the one about El Paso. What's interesting about that is I had actually used the El Paso thing in the past to argue to my brother that walls don't cut crime rates. Then I saw Trump do it before the SOTU. I though "OK he just said something that is opposite of the truth." I did not expect him to do it in the SOTU again. Then he did it. I mean, I didn't see it live but I saw that he did it. What an idiot. Or I guess the idiot or the set of idiots is the one that told him to say that.
Here is an article that predates Trump's recent crap:

Sometimes I wonder how it is that ANYBODY supports a guy that makes so many false statement so blatantly. But obviously a lot of people do.In his remarks, Paxton said El Paso had a high crime rate before the fence was constructed and that the rate of crime dropped substantially after it was completed.
That was not the case.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
