Yeah right. Last time you saw a DE plate?
Saw one last night on my way home from work. Usually see a couple a week. Two have been the same vehicle (white, Chevy Impala and a grey, VW Jetta), but last night was a new one (Toyota sedan of some sort). There are also a couple of Massachusetts vehicles running around town, can't say for sure if they are rentals or regulars. But over all I have seen more East Coast plates in the last year or so, then I can remember ever seeing before.

That's a lot from a state with less than one million residents. DE is the only state in the country to not have letters on their standard issue licence plates because digits are enough for everyone. 8-)

Interesting. I did not know that and I was wondering why there were no letters. Just assumed they were some type of custom plates.

And there are so many categories of plate that we may never need letters.

Examples:

1. SUVs and station wagons get PC category plates.
2. RV plates used to only be for RVs, but now I see people putting them on all kinds of cars.
3. FT plates used to only be for farm trucks, but now they put them on trucks and SUVs. I saw an Escalade without a scratch or dent or any dirt on it with an FT recently. Yeah, I'm sure it's seeing a lot of time in the fields.
4. C and CL for all non-farm trucks.
5. MC for motorcycles.
6. T for trailers.
7. Any organization (that's not white male) with 100 petitioners can get their own organizational plate.

How many digits you have is actually a status thing in DE, especially in the lower half of the state. You can buy/sell old plates with fewer digits. I had a 5 digit which is nothing to talk about (but still looks odd these days), but four digits or fewer are fairly expensive. Plate #20 sold this summer for something north of $400,000. Not kidding.

I guess we just don't have the money for the massive corporate welfare like de Blasio and Cuomo.

Georgia has given out billions in corporate subsidies. Amazon was too greedy though.

These types of subsidies should be against the law, like they are in Europe (pitting one area against another).

I still laugh when I see a Porsche Carrera or Mercedes coupe with a low-digit PC tag. The owners are so desperate for social status that they dress up their cars like station wagons.

Probably Joos or Eyeties.

Not so fast.

"Amazon could be reconsidering its NYC headquarters site due to local opposition

Amazon selected the Long Island City neighborhood in November.
Amazon has yet to build or lease any space in Long Island City, and isn't expected to receive full approval from local governments until 2020, The Washington Post reports, citing unnamed sources. That makes walking back a deal relatively easy.

More on the "Job Creators Network"........

"It is funded mainly by corporate executives and conservative foundations including the Mercer Family Foundation, and has been extensively promoted by far-right website Breitbart."

What could AOC have done to keep Amazon in New York? She's a freshman Representative with no political capital in New York or Washington. She's only been on the job less than 3 months. And do you think she was able to negotiate or engage in quid pro quo while campaigning?

The blame really goes to New York City and New York State.

  AOC is a blip on the screen. She MAY be something some day. But as for now, she's a freshman on 2, historically weak committees.
